A native of Bayonne, NJ - the fabled birthplace of George R. R. Martin - Joseph Lallo is an unlikely entry into the world of literature. After a childhood spent daydreaming and reading, he fully intended to pursue a career in the tech sector. He received a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from NJIT, and subsequently got a job working IT for a large healthcare corporation. Things changed when, in January 2010, his friends finally convinced him to publish the story that had accumulated over the course of a decade of spare time. That story, now known as the Book of Deacon Trilogy, was a surprise hit, and once he got a taste of the world of indie writing, he was hooked. Now he is a full-time author, and co-host of the Six Figure Authors Podcast.

Excellent! This Bygone Dagger series has the most original and engaging storyline I have read since Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, Rowling’s Harry Potter series, and Martin’s actual Game of Thrones. I can’t wait to read more of Fel’s enthralling misadventures.

Too often material that fantasy writers come up with aren’t truly very fresh and/or very original, though they may be greatly entertaining and enjoyable. I eagerly await the creation of future volumes to continue this saga. I find that great storylines don’t ever need frequent sex scenes to keep a reader’s attention (GoT’s only true failings of its video version).

This author writes an interesting, exciting story building on the know characters and adding a few new ones. Magic, muscle and luck combined keep the adventures moving towards their climax and everybody meets up at their favorite tavern to share their stories. That's an adult perfect ending, right?

I have to say, there are a few books / book series on Kindle Unlimited that I've made my painful way through where I really can't understand the number of positive reviews. Joseph Lallo, however, has some great stuff. I've been reading his book for years, and am glad to see he's provided some material for Kindle Unlimited. This was another great entry in a great series! As with most of his books, the characters are well-developed, the story interesting, and the pacing just right to keep you going while still providing all the pertinent information. I highly recommend this series, as well as anything else by the author, to fans of Steampunk, Science Fiction, and/or Fantasy!

Another Book in a Great Series

The Bygone Mask continues the adventures of the Masker family as Fel joins forces with a rival clan to reclaim the family flame. Meanwhile Tome again travels beyond the Great Wall to acquire more books and gets captured. The two stories work to make this book a very interesting and exciting read. I really enjoyed this new format for the series.
