From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. So this 3 1/2 year old computer starts restarting. The event log shows practically constant I/O errors. So we swap the SATA cable from the optical drive to the HD and all is good, for a few months, then it starts doing it again! So we order this Sunday night and it gets here Monday. Installed, ran for a half hour test with no I/O errors. Back in business! Took like 20 seconds to swap out.

Bottom line, these are SATA cables and do what SATA cables are supposed to do at a good price.

LOST EVERYTHING ON MY HD

Bought these cables to connect one of my spare 500GB internal hard drives. In the beginning everything looked normal and functioning. Loaded couple gigs of videos and other files to the spare drive. The next day after booting up my pc I discovered my spare drive was not displaying along with my other drives. I spent a day in researching and investigating in how to recover my drive. Used Disk Management, Disk Part, disconnecting/reconnecting the power and sata cable, swapped ports on the the motherboard, and swapped sata cables. When I swapped the sata cables I used the Cable Matters to connect my backup 1TB internal hard drive and unfortunately this somehow cleared out the hard drive and when I view the hard drive on Disk Management, it shows as the whole drive as unallocated ( not partitioned).

I'm very upset with these cables as I ended up lossing two hard drives. I recommend backing everything you have as a caution in an event you experience what I went through.

Works, but bulky/cheap

UPDATE: Seems the poor write speeds of the transfers I did may be the cable or HDD but hard to say which is at fault. Putting that aside, it did transfer around 100-150mbps. I'm still dropping 2 stars because the cables locks feel cheap and the connectors are huge. They're not 'oh that's kind large,' it's large to the point the cable barely fit in my case (while the stock cable fit with plenty of room to spare). They used some cheap plastic, cheap locking mechanism, and probably cheap parts (which is why they're so bulky). Otherwise they work and do the job so far. I'm using these until some more premium cables come in, but they did do the job.

Cable matters, if you read this... make a smaller profile connector. These ones are ridiculous. It defeated the purpose of an L shape because it still barely fit, while a normal sized connector would've given a lot more clearance (a small amount really makes a huge difference here since the drives are sometimes tucked up right next to the wall of the case).

I only used one of them, so I don't know that the other two work, but the one I did use works fine. My motherboard has two SATA ports that aim out at 90 degrees from the surface and two that point straight up from the surface. To aid in cable management, I wanted an extra 90 degree cable to run to my third drive, and this did the job. I like the length, not too long to get in the way but long enough to go where I needed it. I like that it is all black, so it blends in with other black cables and the black case.

Cables are usually pretty binary--do they work or not. These, however, are in a class of their own. These are premium. Their outer protect layer feels more heavy duty than most cables. There weren't a lot of color options BUT there WERE color options. All of these connectors lock in place. I really like having the option for right angles and longer than average lengths.

Long story short, these are really awesome cables. So far, no issues.

90° angle plastic larger than expected, but works

I purchased a set of red & black SATA cords to organize my two PC cases. RED for SYSTEM drive and BLACK for extra storage and accessories. The cables "work" fine but my previous 90° SATA cable was not so "deep" and fit into my case perfectly. The 90° connector on these stick out too far and hit the side of my case. On some case designs or drive positions, this may not be an issue, but it turned out to be a snag for me. Just be careful if you're purchasing these to "save space" vs. a direct in-line connector...it may not make a difference.

OK! Finally tested out these cables and each one works exactly like described. No faulty cables from Cable Matters. I primarily get HDMI cables from these guys but couldn't pass the deal of a 3 pack for less than 8 bucks you just cant beat it. Customer care sends you an email on day one to check for any issues and that is hands down the best customer care out of the bag. Highly recommend this company.

Good enough cables, i have a smaller case im trying to squeeze everything into, including full size graphics card and only had one right angle sata cable laying around and it worked great in all slots, needed some more as got two hard drives needing to be connected, unfortunately with these installed they stick out too much to be able to use the graphics card, if they were smaller or my sata ports were elsewhere then these would be great, they are just too bulky.
