Not Remastered but remember it was released in 1990

As others have said, the video quality is low. I wouldn't go as far as some have said and call it a bootlegged copy because I knew when purchasing that it was not domestic (US) release. I have purchased other import titles that looked physically similar and played much better. It's simply not remastered to perform well on the TV's that most of us have now. On screen it looks like it is a 480 resolution and since I couldn't find it in Blu-ray I'm not surprised that it's in the same resolution that was standard for the time. If you're looking for this rather obscure movie you have probably seen it before and are going to enjoy it again like I did after not seeing it for over 20 years.

Complex relationships

There is a lot of truth in this movie that may or may not have been done intentionally. I have known Sargeants in the military that disliked enlisted men because they reminded them of other people they didn't like and so they took it out on them. It's real life people I know I've lived it.

Cheap/Pirated DVD
Verified purchase
The DVD was a bad reproduction from another DVD or VHS tape. The DVD case cover was also a bad reproduction. Don't waste your time or money buying it. I watched 10 seconds of it and could tell it was a pirated copy. I had it repackaged for return within 5 minutes of opening it. Bad for Amazon.

Underrated film
Verified purchase
This is a good film I found by accident. No deep plot or life message but a good view of life and human motivation in a military setting. You leave with a certain amount of empathy for each character.

Total dissapointement

Just by looking at the case you could tell that it is a bootleg copy and a very poor one. My Father has been looking for this movie for a while and when he asked me to find it for him I found this but this is NOT cool for somebody to cheat someone out of a movie.

4.3 aspect ratio, with a White Line on the left side.

I am not surprised by a 4.3 aspect ratio and no "letterbox" or wide screen option on older movies, and it's usually not a problem, but the White Line down the left side of the picture on this movie is distracting.

Sent back 1st DVD. This was replacement. Same problem.
Verified purchase
I returned the first DVD of Cadence I received because it had a thick white line down the left side of the video (4:3 format). The "new" replacement has the same white line down the side of the picture, and, when I put it into my DVD player, the DVD was playing the screen credits at the end of the movie. So much for being a new DVD.
