I love Creepy Hollow and the world Rachel created - from clothes casting and faerie tree homes, the pathways and the guardian weapons, to gargoyle riding and shape-shifting pets (how amazing is Filigree?!). I like that other characters from the first trilogy also featured in this book, but really like the new members to the cast.
This trilogy focused on mistakes made, facing consequences, feeling guilt, receiving forgiveness, and the possibility of redemption. I cried real tears in this book, it was really hard at certain times. I felt anger (at the Guild and all their shenanigans), I felt grief, I felt the tingles from the sweet romance, I felt relief, I felt ALL the emotions, it was beautifully written. And Angelica was a proper villain that one could strongly dislike. The escapades were great - a daring rescue, an epic battle. I also have a theory about little Victoria, that I can't wait to see if I'm correct. So... I'm getting the next trilogy (Emerson's story) without further ado, so I can immerse myself right back into this amazing world.
Ryn and Violet's story is my favorite.
Calla and Chase are not as much fun and the tragedies are heartbreaking , but the story is none the less spectacular!
Discovering Chase's secret was only the beginning for Calla Larkenwood in Rachel Morgan's A Faerie's Revenge. Calla shows a lot of growth through all she faces in this book. The dialogue between Calla and her Guardian friends often had me laughing. Certain instances in this book brought me to tears, and there is this really swoonworthy scene, but you'll have to read it for yourself. A Faerie's Revenge keeps the action high, the pace moving swiftly, and feels like a solid bridge between not only A Faerie's Secret and the next book in Calla's trilogy but also between Violet's story in Creepy Hollow 1-3 and whatever the last trilogy will be about. Rachel Morgan knows how to keep the twists coming. This novel gave me a book hangover. I didn't want it to end, and I am so looking forward to the next book. If you're a fan of the Creepy Hollow series, then you'll love A Faerie's Revenge by Rachel Morgan. And if you haven't read the books yet, then I highly recommend you to start at The Faerie Guardian and catch up.
Calla Larkenwood's world is ripping apart at the seams in Rachel Morgan's A Faerie's Curse. This novel is the finale to Calla's story, and boy, it is one fast-paced ride! I didn't want to stop reading. The end of Part One had me crying. The end of Part Two left me shocked. I even gasped at what happened in that part. The ending was sweet and touching, but Morgan also left enough questions unanswered for the next part of the Creepy Hollow series, which I'm already excited to read. What I love best about Calla is that no matter what she goes through, she does find a way to remain true to herself. Action, danger, romance, and more—A Faerie's Curse by Rachel Morgan has it all!
