Why is my pot peeling?!?....

I initially loved these pots and pans. They heat up great, are easy to cook with, and are very versatile. However, one of my pans is already peeling on the outside... not happy at all considering what I paid for them and Calphalon's reputation. Will be contacting both Amazon and Calphan about this...

It’s Gonna Get Hot

I really wanted to love this set. However, the “space saving” design causes some problems.
First, I really love the size of these. We have a large family and these pans seem up to the task of our family in terms of size. I do have bigger stock pots, but this one is big enough for some things.
Second, I really like the nonstick on these. It seems very durable and it actually works. I generally shy away from nonstick coated pans, but these don’t bother me much.
Now on to my issues with these. First, the space saving design doesn’t same much vertical space. I have gotten used to storing pans nestled together and then lids separate. This just has you pretty much stacking everything without much nesting. That creates vertical storage issues. The pans are also wider than my taller under counter cabinets are. I can fit them in the cabinet, but have to slide them through the cabinet door sideways. When you’re stacking this huge heavy pan stack, that itself is problematic and I end up having to take every single item out and placing them back in order from bottom to top. I also had to clear out this particular cabinet because I usually store my pans in a higher cabinet, but the height wouldn’t work in those.
My next issues are functional. The handles of these pans always get blazing hot. Like cooking with an iron skillet, you cannot touch the handles without an oven mitt. Even on the stove top, the handles heat up with the pot. Even the skillet handle. I got quite a few burns before learning to treat these like an iron skillet.
My final issue is the lids. They are made with the lid handles to the side instead of on top. This means the entire lid, including the handles, is always hot. There is no simple lifting of the lid to stir. You have to use a pot holder every single time. And because the handles are on the side for the “space saving” issues, it makes the lid awkward to hold when you’re just lifting it for a minute to stir. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve burned myself on these stupid lids.
So, in attempting to solve space issues in your cabinets, they have created pans that have entirely different problems. I had gotten my space issues handled, so the new problems are just frustrating for me.
These pans are really well made, great size, and great quality. I’m just not a fan, at all, of the space saving design aspects. I’d prefer the classic versions of these pans.

Warped pans and no contact from customer service for 8 weeks

The pans appear sturdy and durable but this was short lived after they were put into service. Within 2 weeks, the large frying pan started warping. Within a month 2 other pans had a similar issue. I reached out to Calphalon customer service and they requested proof of purchase and pictures and I complied. Two emails and a call later and I have yet to hear from them. That was in March 2019 and it's now June. I would not recommend this set or this brand to anyone.

Convenience combined w Inconvenience

These pots/pans are outstanding quality. Material and construction are top-shelf. I've owned them for the last 6 months. I've always loved to cook and I finally splurged on this 15-piece set as a 25-year anniversary gift. I figured they'd be the last set we ever purchased; and they probably will be. They feel like they'll last forever. They heat evenly, and the nonstick quality is excellent.

However... The design feature to stack the pots inside each other has one drawback. They only stack properly in a specific sequence. In other words, a stack of 5 pots only fits together one way. The 3rd pot in the stack is always the 3rd pot in the stack. That's because of the way shallow pots fit inside deeper pots (but not vice versa). They're tapered, so the bottom is smaller than the top. Additionally, they're not marked - so you have to memorize the sequence, or play a puzzle game when putting away clean pots/pans. With the large 15-piece set, it always seems like I need the pot on the bottom and therefore must remove the whole stack from the cabinet to get the pot I want. Returning the clean pot to the cabinet means the same thing. Remove the whole stack from the cabinet so I can re-insert the bottom pot. Sounds simple enough - except these things are HEAVY. (And the stacks are heavier). My wife and 2 teenage daughters no longer put them away, they leave them on the counter for me to put them away; it is a bit of a chore.

From a cooking standpoint, they are very nice - I really like them. From a convenience standpoint - the stack'ability adds convenience and inconvenience at the same time. They save space, but they add a lot of effort/labor. You could hang them, but that would defeat the purpose of spending the extra money on the stack'ability altogether. I really like them (a lot), but hard to say I love them for these reasons. Excellent product, but not a perfect one unfortunately. Unless you need 9 pots and 6 lids - you might be happier with one of the smaller sets. I cook a lot, and there are at least 3 pots and 3 lids I haven't used yet (except to remove/replace them from my cabinets 100 times).

One of the pans started peeling on the outside and I have tried to work with Calphalon on getting another one. I have talked to them and twice submitted their required information (pictures and forms) via email (their request) and twice my email has come back deleted not read! They said on the second time that they would expedite it and handle it directly as this was the second time. Needless to say, this wasn't true as I just received notification that it was deleted and not read just like the first time. This is a lot of money for something that lasted less than one year!

Three pieces (out of 15) in our order came damaged. Two pots have sizeable chips on the edges while another pot is warped (the lid won't fit and the pot doesn't sit flat on the stove element). We contacted Calphalon Customer Service and received a long list of all the things WE had to do, including sending various pictures from various angles of the damaged pots, which we did as requested. Over two weeks have passed with no response even after two follow-up messages. While the pots that are undamaged are great and we like the set overall, we are very disappointed in the damaged pots and the tone/lack of response from Calphalon Customer Service. Expected more based on the expensive price for this cookware.
