She made a deal with the Dakkari devil. Now, he owns her.
On the unforgiving planet of Dakkar, I did what all the humans in our village did: kept my head down, worked to provide for my family, and certainly didn’t break any Dakkari laws to risk inciting the alien race’s merciless wrath.
Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for my brother, and one careless mistake brings a horde of the nomadic, barbarian Dakkari straight to our doorstep, led by their powerful horde king - a cold, ruthless, battle-scarred warrior demanding retribution.
In order to save my brother’s life, I do the unthinkable.
I sell myself to the horde king as his war prize. I agree to warm his furs, travel with his horde across the wild lands of Dakkar, and never see my family again. But as I struggle with my new reality, I discover that the surly, mysterious, dominant horde king never intended for me to be his concubine.... He wants me as his queen.
Captive of the Horde King is a full-length science fiction romance audiobook with a "happily ever after" ending. It kicks off the brand-new series, Horde Kings of Dakkar. Each audiobook follows a different couple and can be listened to as a stand-alone.

This story doesn't have the feel of an Alien sci-fi story to me at all. If you liked GD you will like this as well, but also feel as if you read it before....
With that being said, I loved how many things played out here. I absolutely love our H/h, and the simple yet complicated dance they did with learning one another. It's still a beautiful story. And the way this one introduces another Horde King, I am intrigued with what book 2 will have to offer.
I would recommend this read.
They came that night, 7 huge Dakkari. Luna put on a cloak and went to the middle of the street to meet up with them and explain, fully prepared to give her own life in exchange for her brother’s if that was required. Their leader was one of six horde kings who kept order and dealt out punishments. Harming the land was an insult to their deities. Luna stepped in front of her brother who had run to her and, looking into the horde king’s eyes, she told him he did not have the right to take her brother’s life – she would not let him. Instead, she asked him to take her life, as she was responsible for her brother. What the horde king wanted was that she be his concubine, warm his bed, serve him; to save Kivan, she had to agree.
When they arrived at camp, a bath was prepared for Luna. When the horde king entered the tent, the women who had bathed her left and he told Luna she was to bathe him. She was terrified, but he told her to relax, that he would not take her until she healed from the abrasive ride to camp on the beast. Nervous, she asked if the Dakkari often took human whores rather than their own women. He told her she was not his whore – she was his Queen! What kind of life did this mean for her? What was she expected to do?
I love this author’s books, and this one was no exception! The horde king is easy to like and respect. He treated Luna very well. She was a bit hard-headed, but that’s understandable under the circumstances and not knowing what to expect. The story line took our characters along a path of growth and understanding. The reader may be in for some surprises along the way. Grab your copy and enjoy the alien experience!
LUNA'S stubborn and persistent ways proves to be her strength and it is what makes her stand out in the eyes of the WARRIOR HORDE KING. I love the wisdom of this FIERCE, INTENSE & FORCEFUL (scary/sexy) WARRIOR.
ZOEY builds this strange planet, DAKKAR where of course humans are again lowest on the food chain, destroying the planet and believing folklore about other beings. Sometimes what you think you KNOW, isn't the REAL story. I like the way the author uncovers little gems in the story in order to show the OTHER side.
Maybe similar stories have been told, BUT I LOVED THIS STORY . . . IT WAS REALLY GOOD !!!
This is one of the few alien capture storylines that appealed to me although I have read the author, Zoey Draven's other novels. As Luna learned about her home planet, so did the reader, the settings were marvelous to mind picture, the strange animals, forests, mountains, and long expanses of what seemed like prairie fit the story. The nomadic encampment of domed hide tents that were their living quarters, it took until the near end to know that there were about one hundred members of this particular horde and that there were five others. We became aware that there was a city and a ruler king over all of the hordes, it was he who determined the leaders of all the hordes. The aliens were so well described, their culture and traditions, personalities were well rounded. And the love story between Luna and her horde king, Arokan, developed beautifully, it took no time to accept that the nomads had tails and a little something extra to add to their lovemaking. And Drakkari were very fond of bathing and were exceptionally fond of sex. I loved learning the alien language along with Luna. The most important lesson was the opening of knowledge between individuals who in the end were not so different. Luna blossomed under the horde king who became her husband, she was taught to become a fighter as all of the horde were trained and developed into a stronger, self-assured, and confident member of the horde and became a proud and acknowledged queen of the horde.
This is a book that I will treasure, it is rare to find one that approaches the subject of aliens and humans in which the maturity and the growth of a couple's relationship is developed so that the ending just fits. I know that this will not be the end of the two characters within the rest of the series and that is important to me as a reader. There is a continuing storyline being prepared for this Summer that will be from a male point of view. I hope that the next installment will relate to Luna's brother Kiven who has taken an interest in the Drakkari woman, Mirari.

I honestly want to do this book justice with my measly review but honestly guys it was just that good and I'm crap with words so .. 😂
I loved our heroine Luna (btw all the names in this book were so unique and I LOVED IT, anyways mini sidenote I'm one about names in books so 🤗) , she was just right with my expectations, throughout all her experiences it just felt like it was always on a good flow, not too rushed or prolonged, and it definitely wasn't ridiculously cringe or "unrealistic" (I mean for a sci fi book lol).
Also can we just touch on how awesome it was to read a mixture of sci-fi alien futuristic realness, oldie worldie pre historic alpha living off the land vibes AND super sweet and fierce romance (I'm sure I've forgotten some on that ..very short and eloquent list 😅) and honestly if these were all mixed in together in a legit category I'd subscribe to that kind of stuff in a heart beat, it sounds like too much but it really just works and makes complete sense !
Anyways let's cut out the fan girling and fishing over random details, I just wanted to put some kind of review out there because this book and author deserve nothing less for the hard work out into this, I cannot wait to go stalk all her other books and binge them all in one gulp BUT that's also bittersweet.
Also it's super rare for me to find books I'd gladly re read over and over and this was one of them 110000% ♥️🔥🤩 thanks so much !

This Author I found when doing a search on Amazon for a new Alien romance series and the Warriors of Luxiria was for me amazing, I have read it numerous times. Horde Kings of Dakkar I thought could never be as good, but boy was I wrong. The planet of Dakkar is kept safe and ruled by Horde King's who are pretty merciless on the forefront. Luna looks after her brother who keeps getting into troubles, but this time she gives up her freedom to save his life.
The book sucks you into the story really quickly and it moves along at a great pace, keeping your interest and covers quite a few emotions whilst reading. Luna learns she is not the Horde King's whore but will be his Queen. She has a lot to learn once she decides her deal has been kept on his side of the bargain and she has to do her side. We have the nasty Aunt, who betrays them both and has Luna grabbed by the Horde's enemy, which in the end has Aunt banished.
The story is such an incredible read and once you start you will not want to put it down so don't read at bedtime, a day off, be lazy, kick your feet up and enjoy. Oh, and you sure will want the next one in the series.

I could not recommend this read enough!

When they see smoke, a group of riders called The Horde investigate. To save her brother, Luna offers to take his place. The leader of the group agrees.
From finding herself an outsider to adopting The Horde's ways and language. Being kidnapped and helping to alert the scouts looking for her after being tricked by someone she thought she could trust, before all ends well.
