I love this movie

Let me start this off by saying I didn't watch the web series and I was still able to follow the story. The little rehash they do in the beginning is enough to get you caught up. Although, watching this might make you want to go find and watch the web series. It's a fun little movie. I will probably watch it again. I hope they make a sequel because I really want to know what happens next. Highly recommend this movie.

I really really loved it! Dominique is EVERYTHING and as usual Carmilla and Laura are amazingly cute and the rest of the cast did a great job!
Yes, the story is somewhat simple, but I thought that it was carried EXCEPTIONALLY well, avoiding unnecessary tropes and being satisfying. The ending is a bit on the cheesy side, but you know what? After seeing that the only lesbian movies available are practically ALL DRAMA after DRAMA, cheating, and MORE drama, I can't and won't complain about a cheesy happy ending!
I got the Journalist package so the extra content was INCREDIBLE!! And I also got my subscription to FullScreen to watch it again and support it in every way possible!

I thought that the cast and crew did a fantastic job with this movie.! They chose to keep all the little character uniqueness that made them who they are, developed it into a movie that was longer than their show was, and did it with a grace and humor that is hard to find in adaptations from shows to movies.

I have ranted about the MPA's rating system for making this movie rated "R," to the developers on Twitter and has thought about seeing if the cast would know or respond to why they were provided with an "R" rating. I think that it can hinder other generation's with seeing this and that part does suck. As an avid movie goer, I do not see anything that would deem this movie to be rated "R," and that is what I think is bothering me the most.

I would not recommend it if you have not watched the web series, even though they do a decent job putting their nuances into the characters for the audience members that have not watched the web series. You are more than welcome to watch it of course, but you will not understand the nuances and I feel like that is what makes the show/movie what it is.

But these are my thoughts, and you are welcome to your own.

Vampires, ghosts, and laughs. This movie does an amazing job of paying homage to the series, while pushing the story forward. The characters are funny, smart, and break boundaries. The writing is witty and quick. Hope to see more in the future.

The story has too many holes with no explanatory possibilities. The acting is weak by most of the cast; the stronger performances fall victim to poor writing and direction. Some scenes are full of excuses to kiss rather than act.

Absolutely great movie. I suggest you watch the web series first before watching the movie. The chemistry between carmilla and laura is beautiful.

The webseries was the thing that helped me realize I wasn't so straight or cisgendered after all. The franchise as a whole has had a huge impact on my life. The movie is something I never would have expected, but am endlessly grateful for. I look at Laura, Carmilla, and the other characters now compared to older episodes from season one of the webseries and I think, "Man! They have come so far!" The entire cast is amazing and this movie is clear evidence of that.

Big fan of the web series. Bought this when they made it available online in 2017, just bought it again from Amazon. Great characters, acting and script
