A brilliant movie for the series

Do not expect this to be your long feature film. The length and story truly may feel like yet another one hour special.

The music, the animations, the delivery was all on point. It's a musical so prepare for that, but not a cringy musical. Every song communicated its point, and was relevant to the plot. If you've invested into the series, this movie is the embodiment of the artists giving back to us. Highly suggested that you watch the series before watching this movie.

As one who is empathetic and was able to relate very closely with the conflict, this brought me to tears. I can't stop re-watching it now. This movie is fantastic. It may not be the best movie in the world, but it's the most wonderful Steven Universe experience thus far.

Steven isn't done growing

I had to watch it again, the songs were so perfect I was singing them at work. I watched the release yesterday and bought it today; definitely worth it the second time as well.
Steven Universe does it again making such relatable content while keeping it just as entertaining. The antagonist was thouroughly explained and her reasoning was so realistic. Not a boring antagonist who is evil "just because."
Steven isn't done growing, he may be 16 now and you would think he's got everything down seeing as this is set in the future, but even with everything you always have room to learn and grow yourself.
The animation was exceptional, especially the antagonists cartoon-ish movements, making the scenes so much more interesting.
The music was original and well sung, I feel it in my bones as I imagine it.

One-hundred percent worth buying! Rebecca Sugar deserves it. She's making incredible work and deserves to shine in the future. I look forward to seeing what she does next!

Steven Universe Does It Again

I love literally everything about this show, and the movie was just as amazing! The animation, style, and color was exquisite, it was lowkey a musical and all the new songs were sung beautifully and were interwoven in a way that reminded me of Hamilton. There was character development and new understanding, and all and all I loved it so much. So glad this one came out too :)

Edit: I literally rewatched it and I know in the next few days I'll watch it a third time. They do such a brilliant job with the antagonist. Her motives and her backstory, as well as her character development, which is an amazing thing to accomplish seeing as we just met her. You can really see how much of an effect those six thousand years had on her, as much as it would on anyone. My favorite part with her is how detailed and well done her design and animation is done. It really makes her feel wacky and flexible and unpredictable, not just in the way she is so stretchy but even in how her eyes change in size, shape, and color frame by frame. The artist and the animation team did a brilliant job, as usual.

I honestly can't even decide which song is my favorite, because every time I get one stuck in my head I start singing another. I don't dislike one song, and I've downloaded every single one onto my phone. So glad I preordered this fantastic film, and I can't wait for more!!!

A beautiful movie, that reminds us we still have more to do. The animation is high quality, the story is great. It's just heart warming with some shonen-esq action sequences in there, too. Truly heart warming, and touching. I'm glad I bought it, as a SU fan. The songs are great! The animation is great! The story is great! If you like Steven Universe, this is pretty much a must. Enjoy. Laugh. Cry. It's cool.

I could not see the premier but stayed up all night figuring out how to watch and picked up the digital copy. Well worth the wait for a fan of the show. The animation is well done, the action scenes were fast paced and fluid. I was really into the music, which had a great mix of sound and texture for each character represented. It felt very comfortable as far as the pacing, kept my attention through the whole story. Watch it! I'm gonna again!

Since the day Rebecca announced she was going to make a show and seeing the promos and the pilot I've followed the series up to the movie and its taught me so much about how to treat myself and others. it's a wonderful show the helps teach us true love and that change is a wonderful thing no matter how scary no matter how many times you are beaten down you can always get back up and learn from mistakes you've made on the way to be a better you.

Absolutely loved it. It's visually beautiful, the songs fit in perfectly, and it's got some humor along with important lessons. I'm a big SU fan and I'm, as always, happy crying at the results and effort of the writers and animators. Awesome job!
