In T L Swan’s steamy third installment of the Miles High Club, Kate’s hot new pen pal is a welcome distraction from her horrible boss. But nobody is as distracting as Elliot Miles…and he knows it.
My favorite hobby is infuriating Elliot Miles. Just the sight of my boss’s handsome face triggers my sarcasm. God knows how he earns his Casanova reputation―if a million women want him with his personality, what the heck am I doing wrong?
Disgusted with my love life, I join a dating app under a fake name. I start chatting to a man named Edgar. He’s not my type and lives on the other side of the world, but we hit off a friendship, laugh and confide in each other.
But lately things are getting weird at work. Elliot’s being…attentive. His eyes linger a little longer than they should, and there’s a heat behind them that I haven’t felt before. And then, in the shock of all shocks, he tells me that my vulnerability is appealing. But when was I vulnerable?
Horror dawns…Has my boss been reading my emails to Edgar?
Damn it, why did I use my work email?
Oh no, does he know what I really think of him? I’d rather die than ever admit it.
Or, even worse: is it possible that the man I loathe in real life is the man I’m falling for online?

Swan doesn’t beat around the bush. Taken aback to see that there weren’t any paragraph breaks, the pacing is faster than fast. Something else that stood out was the change in her protagonists’ voice fonts. Another one used for the text messages helped me differentiate between conversations—and ooh boy, was I sold! Whom, you may ask is opening their heart online. It was so pleasantly weird, I had little option but to do an all-nighter, and since I wanted to savour Swan’s story to the hilt, I had no qualms about reading until daft o’clock!
Swan delivers all the feels and so much more. I adored how Kate came across as the no-nonsense employee whose tolerance for her boss’s unrealistic expectations was questionable. She’s not just good, she’s the best—but beneath her work facade lies a stunningly beautiful and sensitive person. Much to Elliot’s chagrin, he can’t stop thinking about the woman he’d chosen to ignore for years. And then the fun begins. Yeap, observing them rub each other up the wrong way made me giggle heartily!
Where do I start with Elliot? No pun intended, but his layers are like peeling an onion that makes your eyes water. Some of his actions spoke louder than words and had me silently sobbing into my pillow! But if I lapped up the intolerant side of him, his vulnerability got the better of me. That said, this drop-dead gorgeous CEO who wants for nothing has a lot to answer for. Will all be forgiven? You’ll only find out by diving in with an open mind.
Being the banter snob that I am, Swan knocking all of her characters’ dialogue out of the park was an utter delight. And oh my, the animal scenes in perfect surroundings had me laughing out loud! Not only was this outstanding couple’s story cleverly put together, but the supporting role development bang on. Also, my heart suffered when the author saw fit, my smiles were at her every whim and to be honest, her prose left me in awe.
As my brain is running riot right now, I can’t say much more without spoiling this workplace enemies-to-lovers romance with a difference for you. However, what I’d like to mention are the quotes I’d highlighted. Seeing as it’s traditionally published, I had no wish to put my foot in it, but for the love of reading creative writing, this book overflows with emotional scenes and one-liners, great comebacks and hilarity! Last words; don’t think twice, one-click and enjoy Elliot and Kate’s journey. Bravo, Swan!
Many thanks to Amazon Publishing for the ARC through NetGalley in return for an honest review.
What. A. Joke. I'm barely 10 percent in and I can't bring myself to read anymore. It's an absolute chaotic mess with horrifically unlikable characters and incredibly degrading language concerning women's bodies. It's positively unhinged. One of the first characters we meet is a so-called 'sexually liberated' man who describes himself as being 'too into to women to call himself completely gay' but then spends several paragraphs making it clear how repulsive he finds female bodies. I've been able to stomach Swain's internalized misogyny and toxic view of sexuality and attraction before but this was just entirely too much.
I might have made an effort to power through if either of the main characters were either remotely interesting.
The banter between Kate & Elliot was everything! I loved how Kate wouldn’t back down & challenged Elliot. It was great watching Elliot open up. I loved that there were moments of laughter and moments that brought me to tears.
I will definitely be re-reading this book over and over again! I absolutely adore this series and I can’t wait for Christopher’s book!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
There were Hilarious parts in this book that I laughed So hard, and there were parts of the book where I cried so hard. One point it broke my heart into a million pieces along with Kates. But Elliot is a good man, he put us back together.
Hilarious moments in point..
1) Kate and Elliots banter (their internal thoughts 🤣LOL)
2) The Miles brothers interaction (brotherly love and brotherly assh@les - as is with siblings)
3) The Birthday scene (I felt this embarassmant totally) 🤤 'knock knock'🤣 those brother crack me up.
4) The Ducks
5) The Goat
So many more scenes that I absolutely LOVE, this Whole Book!! I wanted more of them, I didn't want it to end.
Maybe, just maybe, if I had read this by an unknown author, my opinion might be that it was ok based off my low expectations. But come on TL, you are SO much better than this.

If you haven’t already read the other two books in the Miles High Series, (The Stopover and The Takeover) I would strongly suggest that you read these too - preferably before this one. Although you can read this as a standalone title, you would possibly enjoy it a little more knowing about Elliot’s older brother in the Miles family.
This book centres around Elliott ‘Casanova’ Miles. Third oldest son of media mogul, George Miles, he’s a multi millionaire with a reputation of being a bit of a player. Usually with a beautiful supermodel, actress or artist on his arm, he’s paparazzi hot property.
To the outside world it would appear that he laps it all up, but deep down Elliot Miles is a hopeless romantic who is desperate to find ‘the one’. He doesn’t want superficial arm candy or some fame hungry socialite. He wants real love. The fairytale happy ending. He believes his true love is out there and fate will guide them together.
But finding her is proving difficult. Elliot has become obsessed with a reclusive artist, Harriet Boucher through her works of art. He believes her art speaks to him and that it’s all part of some sign. His brothers think he’s mad, but he knows there’s some connection to the paintings and the woman of his dreams.
So imagine the curve ball he finds himself facing when a cheeky CCTV chance glimpse of his arch nemesis, Kathryn, has him suddenly feeling something like attraction. How could the woman he’s termed as the wicked witch be conjuring up these feelings - after 7 years of despising each other it makes no sense that he is having these feelings.
Kathryn (or Kate) also can’t understand why seemingly out of the blue, the man who has made no secret of his dislike for her is suddenly being nice to her - it’s like he’s seeing her for the first time.
There’s a lot of initial hostility as they both try to make reason out of the strange shift in attraction. As the sparks of passion begin to crackle and come to life they both start to see each other for who they are. Kate isn’t at all wicked - she’s still grieving the loss of her parents which makes her wary of being hurt, whilst Elliot is all to aware of how the paparazzi and media can ruin a relationship and he doesn’t want that for Kate.
Gradually they start to develop this amazingly beautiful and hot-as-heck fiery passionate relationship - but Elliot doesn’t want to make their relationship public because the thought of hurting Kate or losing her is too much.
There’s so much to live about this couple. I love Kate’s sassy, strong and no nonsense persona, but she’s vulnerable and very often that is when Elliot truly sees the woman he loves. He will do anything to protect her and keep her safe. He’s never had feelings like this before and even though he can’t bring himself to say it directly - he’s in love with her.
Now there’s lots of fabulous nuances and little twists that constantly keep you thinking and wondering where the plot will lead. The artist, the dating app, the touchy-feely roommate… It’s also very emotive, and you might need a box of tissues. There are so many times when you just want to scream at them both to stop being so damn stubborn and admit they love each other. But, ultimately you really want to see this couple succeed in getting their happily forever after ending. It’s a bumpy road but the ending will have you breathing a huge sigh of overwhelming relief.
Another fantastic TL Swan book. You never disappoint and I can’t wait for more of your work to be published…. Because I’ve read them all now.

I honestly didn’t think this book could be as good as the Takeover but I think it might just be better but that sets the bar high for Christopher’s book when it’s released.

Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
