First of all, there's no handle which makes carrying this thing around a lot more cumbersome than it needs to be. Then you have the material around the zipper. The old case feels like it used at least 2 layers of canvas or whatever it is for extra durability, while the new case clearly uses only 1 thin layer. I don't expect it to last very long.
And lastly, the old case has its pages on "rings" so it can always lie flat, even when filled to the brim with discs. The new case uses a ringless design with its pages attached directly to the inside spine. Will they detach over time? We'll see.
Overall it's just another example of cutting costs and turning a high quality product into a low quality one. Very disappointed.
You can make and sell such binders cheaper if you make the sheets non-replaceable. But you should think long and hard before saving a few bucks up front on binders with nonreplaceable sheets, such as the Amazon Basics binder.

There's nowhere near enough room to store CD liner notes etc.
My only gripe is that there's no transparent pocket on the spine for a card that describes the contents and the plastic they're made of seems determined to resist the adhesive on all the labels I've tried. So one star dropped for that.
I was sufficiently pleased with the first one that I got another 3.
The central part that holds the discs has a solid spine that supports the weight of the discs. The disc slots are a snug fit (wont fall out by accident) and the backing material will not scratch the discs.
Overall - Pleased with the actual disc pockets. Disappointed with the external fabric (Will not protect against the slightest of knocks).
I read a few reviews before purchasing about the quality of the case and now that I have seen them for myself I can say there is no need to worry about the quality of this product. Yes the material the zip is attached to is thin but it is durable. Also there were reviews about the CD/DVD slots themselves being made of very thin material and flimsy. Again I did not find this to be the case and the slots seems very durable to me. They are made of soft material which protects the discs. I tested this by sliding a DVD in and out of the slot a handful of times and the discs were undamaged.
Overall I am pleased I went ahead and purchased this storage wallet and would recommend it.
I've filled each page with one spare, alternating between having the top right and bottom right empty, which has helped keep the pages level when lying flat. Hopefully I won't have to move too many around to accomodate new CDs as to fit new pages means taking all the pages out, maybe I could have done with leaving the odd page empty as well.
The case is well constructed out of good quality materials. The CDs fit snuggly into the plastic wallets and the playing surface seems well protected against scratches. Too early to comment on durability but I'm hoping that wallets stay intact and the case doesn't fall apart.
The case is almost full but it's not particularly heavy.
I opted not to store the inlays with the CDs but it can be frustrating not having the track listing to hand while the CD is playing. I could always buy a second case and split my CD collection but it's a lot of money to overcome a minor irritation.
I will probably buy another case in due course, to store the rest of my CD collection but not until I see how this one performs over the next few months.
Previous reviewers have stated "stores 100" & "as advertised" and a handle is also specifically mentioned, both as a useful feature and as no longer fitted. From this, it could be surmised that we're not all buying the same thing, which would be absolutely fine except that the details aren't being updated and so, it's not clear exactly what is being offered.
BTW, instead of a handle, there is now a nylon loop on the back which could be hooked onto a karabiner or a single (average-sized) finger.
On the plus side, my first impression was that I REALLY LIKED THIS CASE. I was particularly pleased with the way the pages were bound, subtly separated into 4 blocks of 24 rather than one solid wad - a nice touch. Overall the case looks attractive, appears suitably sturdy and I think it's pretty good value. Hence, 4 stars - and I'll probably buy another when this one gets filled, but please fix the description. It would also be helpful to post the attached image showing the inside, ideally somewhere near the top of the listing rather than buried in the reviews. Thanks.
I have similar Case-Logic CD wallets that I bought in the late 90s and I agree with other reviewers that the materials seem a little cheaper these days. I see no point in the additional slots built into the cover. There is one good feature of the new wallet which is that you can unlock the hinges and move pages around, or insert pages from the back should you need to rearrange.
Overall these feel solid enough and I have now filled five of these wallets with my collection of DVDs. I am happy this was the best value for money for a collection as large as mine. If you are decluttering these are a good way to start, and you will be amazed how much plastic you have to take to the recycling centre!
Great for those long-overdue archiving jobs!
