I am ecstatic that the newest edition of Shadow SEALs has begun and the kickoff book Cast in Shadow is by one of my favorite authors, Abbie Zanders. The mysterious Charley is back to offer opportunities to former Navy SEALs who've had their careers unjustly ended for a variety of reasons. I was delighted that a few favorite characters from other series by Ms Zanders made appearances in this book.

Zeke Ericsson and Aggie Mays kindred spirits. Both lead transient lives not wanting to feel tied down. However their reasons for doing so couldn't be farther apart. Trust isn't easy for either of them but in the course of Zeke fulfilling his promise to Charley, a bond begins to form, between him and Aggie. The attraction keeps ramping up until spontaneous combustion may occur. Giving in is a game changer but what happens after he fulfills his duties is life alltering.

Zeke quietly seeks justice for the little guy and stays in the shadows. Aggie, a total bad-ass, secretly seeks out the bad guys, exposes them and takes their ill gotten gains to distribute to worthy charities. When they get together they don't know if they can trust each other and are reluctant to reveal things about themselves. I loved how Zanders brought in the Callaghans, a Chameleon, and the Sanctuary to help. If you are a fan of Zanders you will know who they are. If you are discovering her now, I recommend you go through her catalog. She will not disappoint. A five star read.

Oh WOW! I loved this book!! Cast In Shadow is a phenomenal romantic suspense by Abbie Zanders. Ms. Zanders has given readers a book that is well-written and loaded with cover to cover excitement. The characters are outstanding. Zeke was forced out of the SEALs for something he didn't do. Now he's a tattoo artist who at times takes out the trash to help those that can't help themselves. Aggie is a modern-day Robin Hood. She travels and works odd jobs while investigating and bringing riff-raff to justice. Zeke and Aggie's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. Every page of this book was a gift I couldn't put down. Cast In Shadow is book 10 of the Shadow SEALs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

Loved it! Zeke and Aggie's story is one of those fast moving stories - don't blink or you will miss something. I read this in one sitting and just couldn't put it down. There are secrets on both sides of this relationship and learning to trust the other takes time. It is a great story with lots of fantastic cameos from Abbie's other series that just add to the story and make it even more absorbing. I really got a giggle out of Sean 1 and Sean 2. The author did us a solid and gave us an epilogue with a great wrap up for Zeke and Aggie.

Give this book a try. Abbie has fantastic stories with great characters and I have never been disappointed with any of her books (but I will admit to being particularly fond of her Mythic series).

An amazing story of 2 people who have so many secrets. They use these to protect themselves.
Aggie and Zeke meet when Zeke is contacted to find Aggie. He didn't expect to find her in an old farmhouse beat up.
Aggie is used to working alone. She has to figure out a way to get away from Zeke even if a part of her doesn't want to.
When Zeke finds her again, she decides to let him in a little.
When Aggie doesn't let him in on some of who she really is, he leaves. Will they find their way back to each other?
There is so much more to this story. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because it is worth more. I hope someone else enjoys it as much as I did.

This book intertwined 3 of my favorite series, The Callaghan Brothers series, their “relative” spin-off, and Sanctuary that the Callaghans had cameo appearances in. It did so seamlessly too. But what's even better is this story can be read independently from these series. But you will get hooked and want to binge-read them all. Especially book 4 of the Callaghan's series that ties in those characters introduced with this new book's characters. Which once again intrigued me and wanting more of a certain character back story again!! Now along with his sister too!
Here's hoping Ms. Zanders continues with these characters' stories.
Because I NEED more!!

Everything I expected

This book had everything I expect from an Abbie Zanders book--a broody hero, an independent heroine, some secret black ops action, a little bit of crossover from other series (enough to intrigue if you haven't read them, not enough to disconcert if you haven't, and a few sexy times thrown in for good measure.

Spoiler Alert:
The part I didn't like is that he's a leaver. I get that sometimes he seems to have no choice, like letting his family think he's e ad, "for their protection", and once he delivered his "package" he was forced to leave. But he had no idea who or what he was delivering her to, and he did it anyway, even though he was starting to have feelings and doubts. But the last time would have been the last straw for me--all of a sudden, with no warning, if you can't tell me all of your secrets, I'm out of here. They weren't all her secrets to tell, and he was smart enough to know that, and that she hadn't known him long enough to have unwavering trust. He didn't trust that she would tell him everything she could, but she was supposed to trust him completely. Too much macho BS in that.

Not even secrets can destroy the connection and the relationship between Aggie and Zeke.
Cast in Shadow started out similar to the other Shadow SEALs books. However, this story was more intricate and more complex and more interesting. It didn’t go directly from point A to point B but meandered in several different directions before landing at point C. A fascinating story that kept my attention making it difficult to put it down. So very highly recommend.

Oh what an excellent book - I was enthralled and completely gripped from start to finish! Two people who live and work in the shadows and doing so alone operating in every shade of grey. Aggie is a kickass computer geek with mad skills whose mission is to right wrongs, protect the innocent and crush the bad guys but her life is a closed book with more secrets than any alphabet agency. Zeke was the fall guy, burned and hung out to dry by those who should have had his back, people he trusted. He is still after the bad guys but on his terms. The connection between them is soul deep and they burn for each other but how can Zeke trust her when there is so much he doesn't know and she cannot and will not share.
I loved the suspense, the story kept me on my toes and guessing until the very end and beyond, it was slightly edgier with a different feel to a lot of Abbie Zanders books and every bit as good as I would expect. Made even better by the tie in to Sanctuary, the Callaghans and those mysterious Chameleons - I still have questions maybe they could be answered in a new series please??

When Aggie goes missing, Zeke is badgered into finding her. It should have been a simple search and rescue, but nothing about Aggie is simple. Not only are they insanely attracted to each other, Zeke is about to get a brief glimpse into a small part of Aggie’s world. Having been burned before, Zeke doesn’t trust easily. With Aggie still keeping secrets, it will take a lot for him to find the courage to maintain a relationship with her just the way she is. Not only is this a secretive, gripping, intriguing story, we get an added treat of appearances by some of the Callaghans and the guys from Sanctuary.

Zeke may look dark, dangerous and badass and be very deadly when needed, but he also has a heart of gold and a white knight complex...how could we possibly resist? I love that whilst he manoeuvres Aggie to do what he needs and be where he needs her to be, he isn't Alpha and demanding about it. He shows her respect and acknowledges her skills and abilities...a true hero.
This is an awesome multi author series but I really enjoyed that Ms Zanders also tied this to her Callaghan and Sanctuary series too. A fantastic book!
