5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, cute, silly and unique, with a local flair.
By MA on April 5, 2021
This is a wonderful book for kids curious about bugs or those who might be less enthusiastic. It’s especially relevant this year, or any other year the cicadas emerge. The characters are interesting, the rhymes relatable and the illustrations very cute. There are a few local references to Washington, DC, that local children may appreciate but they are subtle and don’t detract from the story.

This book is appropriate for toddlers and is a good starting point for further exploration for preschoolers and early elementary children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction to Brood X!
By D. Donnan on May 7, 2021
Although the text was too lengthy for the almost 3 year old, he very much enjoyed seeing the pictures and discussing them with me. Since he lives in what is being called the epicenter of the Brood X hatching, this was a good way to introduce him to the experience. He even gets up early in the morning to “read” the book to himself (as seen in the photo)! The last 2 lines of the book are especially poignant.
