These books grab you immediately and you foregoing sleep to see what happens next. Political intrigue, lying bosses, a corrupt government- what more could you ask for? The characters are great- good guys , the underdogs with real world problems and villains you want to kill yourself. I powered through them and am sad that the next book is not out. How long do I have to wait to see how things get resolved?????

Cerberus is an addictive story that starts with one slightly dirty hero who then saves another just like him that came from an elite corps that at one time had ethics before life slammed her now he is giving her the second chance he was given and she choses to grab hold. His A1 helps her go through the withdrawal he went through and then they start the freeing themselves from their handlers. Running across more of the corps to help when needed. But they both have people counting on them so the pulling away has to be done carefully so others don’t get killed unless they deem they need it not just the handlers.

So, I love a good character driven story: I like getting to know the character, learning where they come from, where they are going to, all that stuff. I also love lots of action, and I don't mind a fair amount of detail when it enhances the plot line--makes it seem more realistic. All this Andy delivers in spades, so no complaints on any of those points. I don 't even mind a "broken hero": one who is struggling through whatever issues life has dealt him/her, as long as we see that hero overcome the odds in the end.
What I don't like, I mean REALLY don't like, is an author who decides to make his story a bully pulpit for his pet issue. In Andy's case it was all about addiction, emotional isolation and an " all religions are valid" mentality that got very old after the one hundred and fiftieth time that they came up. A little of it did help make the character human, but the author seemed to feel that these issues were almost as important as the plot line.
For this reason I gave the series 3 stars. For what it's worth, I did intend to continue reading the series(he ended the first six books on a cliff-hanger--damn!), but apparently there are no more books published in this story line at this time.
So it is a good read; it just would have been a much better read without the preachy emotional issues crap.

I've read the author's fantasy books for a few years now and decided to try his sci-fi and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed his ability to draw you into the world and story he creates is amazing this series has everything you would want in a great story

I have read a few series of Andy's and this one stands out. Witty humour, realistic action and relatable characters that I connected to more on a personal level. The characters have multi level dimensions that make you feel their pain and joy.
