5.0 out of 5 stars A raw, gritty and brilliantly told Neo-noir Vampire lore
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 19, 2021
A dark and delicious tale that reimagines vampire lore in such a uniquely fabulous way! This is a brilliant neo-noir novel - a raw, gritty and at times violent story about humans and Vampires. A story that will completely enthral you!

Everything about this story kept me gripped. The plot is captivating and unique. The characters are so compelling - especially Domingo and Atl and her dog.

Then there’s all the fab side characters. The older perspectives of Ana, a human detective, and Rodrigo, another vampire's "Renfield," are fantastic counterpoints, and the whole is a beautifully balanced portrait of imperfect people making terrible choices and gritting their teeth magnificently through the consequences. I just could not put it down!

Silvia Moreno-Garcia's gritty story is full of fantastic prose and epic world building. Simply gorgeous!
