About Charity Tahmaseb
Charity Tahmaseb has slung corn on the cob for Green Giant and jumped out of airplanes (but not at the same time).
She spent twelve years as a Girl Scout and six in the Army; that she wore a green uniform for both may not be a coincidence. These days, she writes fiction (long and short) and works as a technical writer for a software company in St. Paul.
Her novel, The Geek Girl's Guide to Cheerleading (written with co-author Darcy Vance), is a YALSA 2012 Popular Paperback pick in the Get Your Geek On category.

Blog postSo, I meant to write up and post these thoughts last year. Really. I did. I have longhand notes and everything. Then, well?
2021.
I may be a year late, but I think what I learned still stands the test of twelve months. I hope you think so too.
In November 2019, I conceived of the idea of posting a story a week for an entire year. With the upcoming presidential election in the US, I knew it would be rough going. I wanted to do something kind; I wanted a distraction; I w7 months ago Read more -

Blog postSo in 2021, I managed the following:
Wrote 103,000 words (mostly on Season Four of Coffee and Ghosts) Read 103 books I liked the symmetry of that so much, I purposely didn’t finish reading a book on the 31st.
And while I’ve had better writing years, I’ve had much worse. Considering the state of everything in 2021, it could’ve been much, much worse. Not only am I really pleased with how Season Four of Coffee and Ghosts turned out, but I also had a lot of fun writing it.

Blog postI may have mentioned that I have a time travel series idea that’s been knocking around inside my head for about … four years now.
I never claimed to be a fast writer.
Or thinker, as the case may be. I pondered season four of Coffee and Ghosts for a good four years before I sat down to (seriously) write it. True, I did do a trial run in 2020, but I jettisoned it because … 2020.
When I tried again this year, it only took me six months to write 100,000 words. That’s not a9 months ago Read more -
Blog postI spent this week doing a bit of clean-up. I finished adjusting my prices on Ingram Spark (for their price increase). I’ve been adding print book URLs to all my Books2Read links.
This is a manual process, and while I’m thrilled about having print links, It. Is. Tedious.
I’m really pleased with the release of The Ghosts You Left Behind. Early reviews are in, and the response is heartening. One of my biggest fears with this season was making things interesting and fresh while ke9 months ago Read more -

Blog postWe got spooky this past weekend with the Little Free Library. Not only that, we had some little free pumpkins as well.
I feel compelled to point out that all the candles are LEDs, not wax and flame. Before Halloween, I bought a handful of spooky children’s books, which went fast.
Then on Halloween, I added the candles and the table with the pumpkins and the candy.
After that? Well, as you can see, it was spooky.

Blog postYes, at long last! The release of The Ghosts You Left Behind: Coffee and Ghosts 4.

Print versions all set up. Newsletters sent out. Sale on the Seasons 1 – 3 book bundle on Smashwords (for those who need to catch up). 50% off! This slow and steady approach seems to be working. Pre-orders are trickling in nicely. (Yes, I know. No one’s more surprised than I am.) This is definitely the way to release a book–low key and low stress.

Blog postSo, do you know what I have this week?
I mean, other than a pre-order?
Print books (in process) and pumpkins!

What's a geek girl to do when all's fair in love, war, and hacking ...
Stung by an epic betrayal, Camy Cavanaugh relies on the sure things: her best friend, her job as peer tutor, and her safe spot on the sidelines of life. But when she hacks into a secret, trash-talking website, it ignites a war between the sexes that won't end until the whole school is turned upside down--and Camy's world is turned inside out.
Now the hottest girls in school refuse to date the A-List boys. But with the Homecoming dance looming, everyone from the queen bee to the girl "most likely to" pushes Camy to hook them up with guys from the nerd herd.
And then there's quarterback, A-lister--and former crush--Gavin Madison. He hasn't spoken to Camy in three years ... but he's talking now, begging her to pair the guys on the football team with girls from the Honor Roll.
It's a contest of wills and everything is on the line--even Camy's heart. Will she retreat to the sidelines, or will she find the courage to get back in the game?
This contemporary young adult novel won the 2016 International Digital Awards, in the Young Adult Novel category. Read on for a tech-savvy twist to Lysistrata.

Katy and her grandmother have always used coffee to catch ghosts. It pays the bills and keeps them in high-end beans. After her grandmother dies and a rival ghost hunter moves to town, Katy fears things will never be the same.
She's right. Malcolm changes everything.
When Christmas brings both strangers and ghosts of the past to Springside, Katy fears her new business, new relationship, and quiet hometown will never be the same.
She’s right, again.
Once she uncovers long-held family secrets, Katy finds herself entangled in past and present—and on a mission to find the truth. To unravel the mystery that links her family with Malcolm’s, she’ll need to bargain with a powerful entity and face retribution from the necromancer community.
Where Katy must go, Malcolm can’t follow. She’ll need to make the ultimate sacrifice. To save Malcolm, Springside, and everything she loves, Katy will need to give them up forever.
