Great price and quality for a Compass! I bought this for my husband for work. He is a Carpenter and asked for a Scribe. I asked him what is a Scribe? It’s an old fashion Compass that we used in school back in the day. When I searched by Scribe I found modern ones in Carpentry. The price was three times as much! But that was not what he wanted. He wanted an old school one. When I searched Amazon for a Compass The prices were much different. That’s when I found this one. It was exactly what he wanted. He was thrilled that I was able to find an “Old School Compass.” I was thrilled with the price! It arrived in two days. There was another seller with the exact same one that shipping was six weeks out. That’s why I chose this seller. I am very happy with the product. THANK YOU!!!

Doesn’t align correctly

I don’t know if I receive a previously used or re-boxed product, but it already looked like it had a lot of greasy hand usage. Biggest issue though is that the alignment is off by about 1/4”. Instead of the mark landing on the longer lines on the compass, it’s just short of that (see pic). Only reason why I rated three stars is because it will at least hold its position and will draw consistent circles. But if you don’t have a ruler handy, it’ll be difficult to get an accurate diameter

This item is the same as when I was a kid. It's hard to believe how hard it is to find and the price keeps going up unnecessarily. But I like style better than the other ones. Works great for sewing too because I can put my colored pencils in it and I can't do that with the other designs. Plus this is metal and not plastic. So I like it better.

Price was good but the product wasn't. The "swing arm" on the protractors falls off and will not stay back on. The compasses were received with the pivot screw quite loose and the pencil diameter too small for the pencil holder. I made the compass work by tightening the screw and putting masking tape around the pencil (to increase the pencil diameter) but I would not buy these again.

The measurement markings are definitely not accurate. They are like 1/2 and inch off. But it’s so easy to just measure with a ruler who cares. And when you move the pencil and have it fully expanded it goes well beyond 12”. It’s a great little compass.

The pencil is flimsy. The first time we used it, the lead broke and when sharpening the pencil it kept breaking in the sharpener. The metal is tarnishing. You can’t read the centimeters because of the tarnishing. The inches side is a little better, but not much. This is not worth the money paid. Very crappy, expensive product.

I got this for my daughter's 7th grade math class. She loves it and has had no issues with it. The only problem was I thought it was a purple protractor when I ordered it which I thought bonus my daughter will love it as she loves those pinks and purple colors. But when we got it it was boring clear. Which does change my rating of the product, but it would have been nice if the picture wasn't so deceiving. But overall it gets her homework and classwork done.

Reliable tension on ball bearing, point stays exactly where you insert it. I bought an entire classroom set and anticipate them lasting for years. I've wasted money on other compasses that don't have adequate tension on the drawing "leg" and my students have been frustrated trying to make perfect arcs and circles. This compass does exactly what it's supposed to. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the clamp-down feature that holds the pencil is kind of loose on some of the compasses—it can be fixed, but it would be nice if I didn't have to adjust any of them.

Pencil Grip is not good as it slips, cheap construction

Reading positive reviews, I ordered this compass instead of buying whole geometry from Mr. Pen brand. I'm disappointed with the purchase as it is costlier than other brands and quality is worse. The pencil will not hold in the holder. Holder is poorly designed locking mechanism and pencil will slip with a slight pressure. I'll not recommend this product because of quality issues.
