I really liked the apt building!!
Verified purchase
So I gave this movie 2 stars because I liked the building! Really cool apts! Exercise room, lobby, really nice place!! Loved the staircase!! I had to google the movie to see where it was filmed and it turns out the building is REAL!! It's the Fairmont Creamery Apts in Cleveland OH. The view of the city is really nice too!! I'm not sure if they are condos or apts, you'd have to call them to find out. And I"m not sure if they are available. Again, call them. The outside of the building is really nice if you google it but I'm not sure of the neighborhood as I don't live in Cleveland. And now we've seen the inside, it might be something to look into renting one. I'm sure they are pricey though. Oh and in the first scene, you see two Cleveland OH business ads on the back of movers' shirts, one for piano movers and the other for storage and moving needs, so there ya go!! Apartment showing for free, and the name of movers who will help you move in!! But it's in Cleveland OH. So I"m wondering if the Apt building owners made this to show off the apts? That's a clever idea!

As for the movie? Here's the plot: Don't eat cow meat. Yeap, that's it!! if you eat cows then ghost cows will come and get you and kill you in the dark. So eating cows is bad. Eat carrots and beans instead. And don't forget, check out Fairmont Creamery Apartments for your fun luxury living needs!! But don't eat cows cause you know, Ghost Cows!!

Stunning House
Verified purchase
I liked that house. Very impressive. It probably is a peep into the future. Bad news in a power cut. But I digress. The film started off in 1983 when this building was used as an abattoir and also as a front for knocking off two legged animals (people) along with the poor old cattle.

Strange things happen to the tenants and the owner’s. The young daughter finding an imaginary friend who is really a boy who was thought to have died back in the day but returned to lead the girl a tour of the house while the tenants are mutilated (see abattoir) and meets with his doppelgänger which leads to a death. Well, that’s what I gathered from this. It was confusing but kind of came together at the end. I certainly liked the camera work and the actors did their best.

This is a horror film the whole family can watch munching popcorn and slurping soda. Not too much gore, thankfully not much sex as a filler although a couple did get romantically involved. Pointless. Almost like the film but there was a story in there if you have patience.

A VERY FRIGHTENING HAUNTED HOUSE STORY
Verified purchase
THIS MOVIE HAD FRIGHTS AND CHILLS WITH TWISTS AT EVERY TURN, NOT JUST AT THE FINALE, WHICH IT ALSO CONTAINED. AS A
FAMILY MOVES INTO A LOFT, THE WIFE BEING AN ARTIST, UNUSUAL OCCURRENCES BEGIN TO HAPPEN. THERE IS EVIL STORED IN THIS
BUILDING AND IT CONTINUES TO MANIFEST ITSELF. A YOUNG BOY HAS DISAPPEARED BUT OSTENSIBLY STILL REMAINS IN THE STRUCTURE.
AS THE HUSBAND’S PERSONALITY BEGINS TO RADICALLY CHANGE AND DETERIORATE, THE WIFE TURNS TO HER VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE
NEIGHBOR, AND HEARS A STORY WITH WHICH SHE BECOMES TERRIFIED. AT THE DENOUEMENT, I.E. UNRAVELING AND THEN CONCLUSION,
WELL, YOU WILL FIND OUT. KEEP WATCHING UNTIL THE VERY END. ENJOY.

Nothing new to see here.

No twists, no new ideas. Same old story line and the actors were only Ok. Little girl was annoying with a horrible baby voice. Glad this was Prime and I didn't have to pay extra for it.

I wanted to like THE CHARNEL HOUSE but the story was way too implausible to make a great horror movie.
Verified purchase
Although the actors were good and there were a few places that made me jump, the plot was so implausible that I just got more confused by the story than I got any horror or good suspense. It was not the worst movie I've ever seen, by far, but the ending didn't give one the closure that this movie needed, IMO. The entire story played out in a way that really made no sense at all and was just kind of all over the place. It could have been alot better if the story had been more cohesive.

Usual jumpy horror

I know they have to keep up with the times, but having an automated house just doesn't go well with haunting.
Not much innovation.
