How It Works
Polishing Pad Cleaner cleans and rejuvenates all foam, microfiber, and wool polishing pads. The innovative cleaner removes spent compound, polish, wax, and paint residue from any polishing pad. The citrus-based cleaner breaks down and releases spent product, removed paint, dirt, and contaminants from polishing pads. Simply spray on any polishing pad, scrub with a pad-cleaning brush, and rinse with warm running water. Polishing Pad Cleaner is also designed for use in any pad-cleaning machine for maximum cleaning power. The advanced citrus formula removes spent product, buildup, grease, and oil to restore the performance of any polishing pad. Polishing Pad Cleaner helps maintain the original condition of brand new foam, microfiber, and wool polishing pads. The cleaner prevents old wax and polishing compound from drying inside pads and ruining them. Polishing Pad Conditioner cleans and restores new and old polishing pads.

Cleans All Buffing Pads
Different polishing jobs require different combinations of machine polisher, polishing pad, and polishing compound. Body shop wet-sanding marks typically require heavy compound and wool cutting pads. Light swirls and scratches are removed with a foam cutting pad and swirl remover polish. Hard paint finishes may only be cut with microfiber cutting pads and a medium compound. Polishing Pad Cleaner works on all foam, microfiber, and wool buffing and polishing pads. Pad Cleaner rinses clean and leaves pads refreshed and extends their lifetime. Without proper cleaning, buffing and polishing pads can cake up with dry polish and paint residue. Residue clogs polishing pads, which reduces their cutting ability and causes them to produce sub-par results.
Polish With Clean Pads For Superior Results
Machine polishing is the fine detailing art that balances machine power, abrasives, and friction to remove swirls and scratches, and restore luster to paint. When polishing pads clog up with spent product and paint residue, they can no longer produce the correct amount of friction and produce sub-par polishing results. If this residue is never cleaned, the pads clog after just a couple polishing jobs and must be thrown away. Chemical Guys Polishing Pad Cleaner breaks down and removes used polish, paint residue, glaze, sealant, and wax from foam, microfiber, and wool polishing pads. Thorough cleaning is essential to keeping pads from clogging with old product so they can produce professional results. The citrus base of Polishing Pad Cleaner rinses clean from all polishing pads, and leaves no residue that affects the feel or performance of pads.
Clean Pads Last Longer
Machine polishing is a messy affair. Used polish, paint residue, and removed contamination stick inside and clog pads. Without proper cleaning, this residue hardens into a sticky cement that will ruin a pad after only a few uses. Chemical Guys Polishing Pad Cleaner breaks down used polish, removed paint, and stuck-on contamination from foam, microfiber, and wool buffing pads. Use Polishing Pad Cleaner to clean pads to a pristine state to maintain a 'like new' condition. Regular cleaning reduces internal wear and tear, so polishing pads last for dozens of polishing jobs. Simply spray Polishing Pad Cleaner into a used pad, scrub with a stiff pad cleaning brush, and rinse with warm running water.
Polishing and Buffing Pad Conditioner
How it Works
Chemical Guys Polishing Pad Conditioner lubricates buffing and polishing pads to reduce wear and tear, and produce superior polishing results. Dry rubbing builds up excess heat and friction, which reduces the effectiveness of polish abrasives and wears down buffing pads prematurely. The slick lubricants in Polishing Pad Conditioner extend work time of polish abrasives to produce refined results with fewer passes. Particle abrasives inside polish need a prescribed amount of time to break down and refine the finish as they work. Without the proper lubrication of Polishing Pad Conditioner, water-based compounds can dry out and spread all over the work area in the form of an abrasive dust. Synthetic conditioners open up porous polishing pad foam to evenly spread compound and polish around the pad for consistent cutting power. The combination of proper work time, reduced dry friction, and even breakdown of abrasives and residue control produces superior polishing results in fewer passes.
Why Buy This Product?
- Light conditioning lubricants inside add extra surface protection by reducing dry friction
- Provides extra needed lubrication to protect against micro-marring and burning paint
- Extend the life of your pads by reducing friction

As for the HexLogic pads and Chemical guys polish, I can not endorse these products. Using a yellow pad with V32/34 I simply could not get good results on my black truck. Very frustrating. The yellow pad ended up falling apart.
Switched to Meg's D300/302 compound and polish, paired with Meg's cutting/finishing microfiber pads and got MUCH better results. Do yourself a favor and just buy the tool, and invest in the Meg's system for the liquid and pads.
It arrived, the box was tattered and broken and it clearly was in poor quality recycled packaging topped off with no outer box.
Not a good sign of things to come.
Opened the box and was greeted by a nasty industrial smell, which made me think of the conditions of the workers where this thing was made. I couldn’t imagine breathing that in all day.
Then the on/off switch feels like it will break at any point. It’s the perfect combination of stiff and loose which does wonders for inspiration of quality (Not). Then comes the “little baggie” packed with it. Alas, It’s a set of brushes with leads. Wow, in 2018 we have brushless motors. I don’t think this will last and I am going to look for something built to inspire confidence rather than hope that today isn’t the day it’s gonna break.
It reminds me of a Harbor Freight special.
Update- I used the machine. It works well, but I’m not sure it’ll last.

- Chemical Guys BUF_301_16 Polishing and Buffing Pad Conditioner
- Chemical Guys SPI_109_16 Leather Cleaner and Conditioner Complete Leather Care Kit
- Chemical Guys WAC_201_16 Butter Wet Wax (16 oz)
It was a LONG 2 days, but the results speak for themselves. Washed the car with water only, then started in on it. Started with the V32, then V36, then V38, followed by the Butter Wet Wax.
Below are some before and after pictures of the door (Oxidized VS Finished) and the second... Is the difference just between the V38 and Butter Wet Wax steps. You can see how much clearer the reflections are. Amazing.
Next up was the Leather... WOW, night and day difference. The seats were last cleaned about 8mo ago (expensive name brand from auto parts store)... they have never been this clean!
The hood photo... well, the hood was oxidized worst of all and now you can clearly see cloud reflections!!

Pros: At the current time of writing this review, I have not experienced any issues whatsoever over the course of my 3 month ownership. The design itself is very ergonomic. The machine feels very comfortable in your hands even after multiple lengthy detailing sessions. I had no previous experience with orbital polishers and despite this, I still got amazing results with the compounds/polishes/pads provided [See picture attached]. The pads themselves have so far proven to be very tough and of good quality. They've been used so far for a complete car detail [My car is a 2004 Nissan Sentra] and have been washed many times after each use and still appear good as new. The compounds/polishes provided are roughly enough to complete an entire detail job on one car, assuming you do not do multiple compound passes. If your car's paint is in very bad condition, you may need to buy another bottle of compound to complete the job. The vibrations and noise level are acceptable, not the best in class but fine for the price you're paying. The power cord is long enough to offer the flexibly you need while working and pairing this with an extension cord leaves you with more than enough mobility. The variable power levels work well and do give you a range of noticeable power differences. In terms of tactile build quality, the machine does feel well built and sturdy thanks to the hard plastic casing protecting the interior bits. Lastly, the price is very good and for what you pay, you do get a lot in return.
Cons: There are a few cons which I think are worthy enough to be mentioned. For starters, I found the location of the power adjustment settings are not ideal. I managed to accidentally lower the speed setting while handling the machine about 15 times over the course of the full car detail. Also, some parts of the machine underneath the black grip piece would get very hot over the course of a session. At least in the beginning, while getting used to the device, you need to be careful where you place your fingers as some of the metal screws and bits heat up. One of the backing plates provided [the red flexible one] is already starting to show some rips due to the constant bending it goes through while detailing some contours. [See picture provided]. I worry about the longevity of it and already plan on a replacement incase it progressively gets worse. Luckily, the set provides a second backing plate [the yellow one] but as it is designed to be more stiff, it does not preform as well around the contours and curves as the red flexible plate. Each backing plate comes with a small circular "washer" [Picture provided] that always needs to be there when attaching the backing plate to the machine [in order to ensure proper clearance between the machine and the rotating backing plate/pad]. The issue with this is that the washers are entirely removable for some reason and are always at risk of being lost. The washer should be permanently attached to the backing plate so glueing them down would be a smart idea - just make sure you use a heat resistant glue as the metal piece on the backing plate does get very hot. Lastly, the process of removing the backing plate is not very intuitive as it involves inserting a thin wrench into a small gap to hold a nut in place which allows you to unscrew the backing plate [Picture provided]. The whole process is frustrating and relies entirely on a completely independent tool [the wrench]. If you misplace the wrench, you will have a very difficult time removing the backing plate as no regular wrench will ever fit into the gap. I recommend visiting a machine shop and have a copy made, or somehow manage to make a copy of it using a cut-out of thin hard plastic. I personally attached it to the end of the power cable with a zip-tie to make sure it does not go anywhere [Picture provided].
Conclusion: I'm overall very satisfied with the product. The machine was a joy to use and made the process of removing the swirls, scratches, and hazing virtually effortless. For the price, I believe there is no better option. Great for beginners, too [Not once did I damage the paint]. Apart from the small issues here and there such as the placement of the power adjustment and the bits that tend to get very hot, the machine itself exceeded my expectations for the price point. If I could, I would give this product 4.5 stars.

LONG TERM EDIT: Glad to say after 2 years of use (4 complete 3-stage details) the machine has held up very well. I have encountered no issues and the machine still works as advertised.
The polisher is relatively light, making it easy to use. Some reviewer have reported problems with the pads falling apart very quickly. I did not have that issue. I was impressed with the quality of the pads, and the pad cleaner was much more effective than I thought it would be. I believe that I will be able to re-use the pads several times.
The orange pad does most of the heavy work in the first stage of detailing, so it can get quite dirty and full of polish and paint. It would help to have a second orange pad available, to allow you to change to a fresh pad when the first one gets too dirty.
All in all, I would highly recommend this package. The Chemical Guys have some informative videos on YouTube to help you make sure you're using the equipment properly.
En cuanto a los productos de Mychemicalguys sólo usé el V32, sirvió perfecto para quitar un rayón que traía muy marcado en toda la puerta. No lo quita perfectamente pero lo difuminó muy bien.
The polisher itself is well built and solid, and served me well on my first detailing job on my car.
At the end of the day, I would recommend it, quick to get comfortable with, hard to damage your car with it, and it does what it is supposed to. The balancing of the DA mechanism is really well done, and help to prevent fatigue and pains as you work throughout the day.
The results really do speak for themselves. On my first go with this thing I used the blue pad (finishing pad) and was able to remove some old over-spray that has been stuck to my car for ages.
If you can wait, definitely get the kit when its on sale. As it makes a great addition to any amateur detailers arsenal.
I was checking thru the pkg and noticed that a screw-in handle is in there...but it is not mentioned anywhere in manual or here on-line. I dont see anywhere on the machine that you can attach this handle...unless you remove a screw that is on both sides of machine. I havent removed a screw to check IF this handle will indeed screw-into the hole. Has anyone gotten this handle ? If so, where do you screw-in ?Maybe Chemical Guys can comment......
