Apparently: one would need to read previous books to know who on earth the characters were - and their history.
There's a inbuilt attempt at 'romance' that seems to have been inserted on a whim - and is just annoying .... exacerbated by a (presumably) male authour predicting female reactions.
Then there's an annoying lack of an 'ending' - another of those silly attempts to get the reader to seek a sequel - no thanks!
The telling of the tale can be a bit simplistic and amateurish.....a good editor may have been the cure....?

I am still waiting for an ending to this book... Also, the poor proofing, with words totally left out of the text. Usually I would just give an unfinished book a 1-star rating, add the author to my "Authors to Avoid" list, and go on to another author. One who cares more about pleasing their readers than selling (?) their next book. News flash: I NEVER buy the next book!

This was a fairly good book, however the grammar was bad. Author needs to learn the correct usage of sit, sat and set. Also the pronouns him/he., her/she, I/me.. It is distracting and annoying. Otherwise, the book was a good read.

It is written with a strong, warm hearted female detective that has had a rough life, but is on the side of the good guys.

This book assumed the first book in the series had been read. Every other chapter was linked to an unexplained back story. I tried reading alternate chapters relating to the current plot but gave up. It lacked coherence.
Some odd language errors which an editor should have spotted didn't help. Free books are usually free for a reason.

In this book the case she takes on is the murder of a woman, who on first glance seems to have been killed by her boyfriend. Searching for the truth leads her into the middle of deception and false theories. This second book is even better than the first.
