This is the first financial book in which the author REVEALS HOW HE, PERSONALLY, MAKES HIS OWN MONEY.
We are living in an epic period of change, danger and opportunity. The economy is crashing and booming every few years. People are getting fired and replaced by computers and Chinese workers. The stock market crashes with regularity.
Every "fix" from the government makes things worse. The Old World has been demolished... and people are desperate for answers.
James Altucher's "The Choose Yourself Guide To Wealth" contains those answers. This is the field guide to the "New World" we live in. You can play by the old rules and get left behind, or you can use these new ideas and become wealthy.
This is not a book for the faint of heart. Read at your own risk, because sometimes the truth is hard to take. But for those who are ready to hear, James provides an updated map of the new territory for generating wealth and freedom.
This book is the eye-opener of the century, it is the guide to building, keeping, and investing your money and breaking free from the chains of rusted, old thinking.

The book took me about an hour to read, there are a ton of spaces, blank pages, etc. as he tries to fill up another book to make himself more money. I guess I can't really blame him since this is just a sad commentary on the new wave publishing where these best selling authors just pump out as many books as possible rather than as many GOOD books as possible.
I also find it hard to credit him because while he goes on about honesty, he does a lot of (perhaps) dishonest things, like butt-kissing (which he admits to) and making "Fake" customers probably just like the fake reviews on this book.
It is very abstract. I can tell you right now that his basis for "wealth" is more like physical, emotional and spiritual wealth, but he does give some ideas for making money...i.e. creating a business from scratch and selling it for a bunch of money, or cold-calling rich companies to get them to run a website you designed....yeah, right.
There are some good pieces of advice and some bad, in my opinion. I guess it depends on where you're at in your life among other things. Many of his "schemes" also won't work in the midwest, which is just kind of sucky to have to read a whole book with ideas that don't really apply where you live.
I have done a lot of crazy things myself but I wouldn't advocate for people to quit their job and start working on website development or starting a business, especially since that's not really everybody's thing. I appreciate his faith in the fact that we will find something, but you can't tell people to jump off a bridge and expect everyone to somehow magically get rich from the deal.
However - the rest of the book is great. I love his advice on how to be an idea machine, and so much more. He has an unconventional approach to success and self-improvement and the best part is, he emphasizes trusting and respecting yourself, rather than mindlessly following some guru. I hope the book makes him lots of money; he is hardworking and deserves it.

I've long been a fan of living life with directions rather than goals (James uses the term Themes) and I can identify with everything he stands for. The idea of using your own discernment to work out what to do and what to believe is one I fully promote in my work.
This is a good book and you should make time to read it.
One tiny thing - The Kindle Version had a rather large number of typos, which gets distracting after a while. But the content was so good that you find yourself forgiving it.
