About the Author
Laurie Stansfield has worked as a freelancer since graduating in 2010, but only recently arrived at where she feels most at home--illustrating children's picture books. She creates her art digitally using a loose line, lots of texture, and a limited but punchy color palette. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

We have two Shel Silverstein collections of poetry, but they don't get read much. T seemed pretty into Christmas, Here I Come! I attribute that to how comfortable holding the book is, how bright and fun the illustrations are, and the fact that the short poems rhyme. I don't know where he got the idea that poems should use rhyme, but he has expressed a preference for rhyming poetry. I also read this aloud; it is mostly iambic pentameter and true rhymes, making for a smooth read-aloud with no stumbling blocks. I still cannot forgive the author who shall remain nameless who tried to rhyme "loose" with "choose" several years ago in a Curious George book.
Christmas, Here I Come! is a festive, secular offering and seems like it would make a nice little stocking stuffer or pre-Christmas read. T clearly enjoyed it this week!
Author D.J. Steinberg has fun poems that are easy to read. Fun tongue twisting rhyme enhances the message. Colorful illustrations are bright and cheery and depict the fun kids are having. Readers will also see letters to Santa and enclosed are cool stickers to use.
Christmas, Here I Come is the perfect book to fill your Little One's days leading up to the most wonderful time of the year!
This festive little book is full of fun poems about Christmas traditions such as choosing the perfect tree, decorating gingerbread houses, writing letters to Santa, and more! There are fun lists with great ideas of things to make or do this time of year and there's even a wonderful poem about what children around the world call Santa Clause!
The illustrations are wonderfully festive but also have a very cozy feel that makes this Winter-based book perfect for cold days stuck inside.
To top it all off, there's a sheet of cute stickers in the same illustration style at the end of the book that makes this poetic picture book a great gift!
