Cute Doggie Romance
Verified purchase
This is not a knock-your-socks-off movie, but it's cute, clean, and fun. The dog, Bear, an escape artist yellow lab who falls in love with two families, plays a central role, so that's fun if you're a dog-lover. The rest of it is pretty usual for a Hallmarky-type movie (there may be a few spoilers, so if you want to watch it first, quit here): leading lady WAS in a relationship with the wrong guy who tries to sabotage her new romance with the dog's other significant other. The dog's "dad" apparently has another woman after his affections, so leading lady gets the idea he's involved with this woman. So, she goes back with the ex-boyfriend who dumped her. His fatal move is to drop Bear off at the pound; this brings dog's mom and dog's dad together, as fate would have it. Of course, the two kids of the single parents hit it off like they'd known each other forever, and they all have a picture-perfect Christmas together and give the distinct impression they will all live happily ever after--with Bear as the center of all their lives.

Doggy love afair.

I love a good Christmas heart warming love affair as much as the next person. The story was great. The actors where great. The chemistry between the kids was good and the dog fit but the two lovers well lets just say they seemed more like to people that excepted one another rather then love each other.
This is a good movie but I like to watch them over and over. While once it is a good movie I don't think I'll enjoy it as much tomorrow and the next day. It's just there was not enough emotion for anyone but the dog and the people you knew you where suppose to not like.
Story line well it has been done but boy losses dog thanks to neighbor calling pound. Girl buys dog at pound. They agree to share the dog and grow closer from it. While they are both good looking others step in and create problems that shouldn't be there. Spoiler alert as if you didn't know they sort out the problems and grow to hold each other fondly. maybe I'm spoiled on the fairytale love of Hollywood and this is what real love might be. Something to grow over time with the give and take of real life.
Anyway I hope you get what I'm trying to say good movie just not great to me.

Not that great - just ok

I watch a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies. Yeah, most of them are kinda cheesy but at least they are pretty well written for the most part and the acting is usually decent. This movie was really not that great and honestly, I almost stopped the movie a couple of times but kept hoping it might get better. The story could have been much better. The idea was okay but the execution/writing/acting really wasn't very good. Sorry but my recommendation is to just skip over this one and watch ANY Hallmark Christmas movie instead.

Really badly written!
Verified purchase
This is a very very poorly written movie. Nothing is endearing about any of the characters, with the exception of the dog and the plot is nonexistent. It was such a bad story line that it was irritating. It was beyond just being predictable, it was painfully awful. The only positives about the movie was that it was clean and family friendly and the dog was adorable. Time is precious and you can’t get it back so watch something worth it! 👍

"New Tricks"
Verified purchase
Let's see a man looses a dog which ends up at the pound. The pound checks and it isn't chipped. Dog gets adopted by a lady. Man finds dog and wants it back, but agrees to share it with the lady and her son. Having lost the dog once did he have it chipped? No!!! Dog gets picked up again and ends up in the pound. The same worker doesn't recognize the dog and is going to let another couple have it. Dog is saved at the last minute by the original owner/man and the lady. Never mind dogs, obviously you can't teach a man new "tricks".

Great Family Movie!

I liked the character of the dog, how he stole the wreath to give to the lady and how he had enough love for both families. I liked the way both families shared Bear.. I disliked that she was gullible with Chance and how she never discussed her concerns with Jack. A very good movie.

Terrible Movie
Verified purchase
The adult actors are two of my favorites. How they agreed to do this poorly written and filmed movie is a mystery. Whoever wrote it must have been sidetracked many times. Worst movie I’ve seen in a very long time. It made no sense. I threw it in the trash. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
