About Christopher Mitchell
Christopher Mitchell is the author of the epic fantasy series the Magelands.
Christopher’s first memory is of Elvis dying. His gran told him it was because he’d eaten too many cakes, and Christopher believed her. She also told him that there were fairies at the bottom of her garden, and he believed that too.
He counts himself very fortunate to have a supportive wife and four beautiful children. He loves deserts, which is too bad as he lives in Scotland, but the mountains, glens and lochs more than make up for it.
His other love is Greek Tragedy, especially Euripides, and he also reads history, science, fantasy, and pretty much anything about the Beatles…

Back where it all began.
Living quietly with her young children in Colsbury Castle, Karalyn Holdfast has found peace at last. With the Sextant of the Gods under her control, she is making up for lost time, while keeping a wary eye on events sweeping across the other worlds where members of the Holdfast family live. Little does she know that her life is about to change again, as a young mage arises from the remote mountains of Kellach Brigdomin – a young mage who will upset the balance of power that has been carefully nurtured on the Star Continent.
With an eye on achieving ultimate power for herself, Thorn Holdfast arrives in Plateau City with her husband Keir, ready to begin work for an Empress who has not yet forgiven her for the treachery of her youth.
Without any wars to fight, Corthie Holdfast faces a different battle – against the demons in his own mind. Striving to live a peaceful life with Aila and his young family, Corthie’s resolve will be put to the test. If he fails to resist the lure of violence that calls out to him, not only will his family be under threat, but the safety of his entire world.
Stolen from his home, Corthie Holdfast has arrived in the City of the Eternal Siege as a new Champion.
He must fight alongside the Blades, whose lives are dedicated to the defence of the City against the hordes of monstrous Greenhides; or die at the hands of the Gods who rule.
Maddie Jackdaw, a young Blade, faces her last chance. Thrown out of every unit defending the City, either she takes on a new role, or she will be sent to the Rats, a company of misfits given the perilous tasks beyond the Great Walls.
Her new role, if she takes it, will bring her face to face with her deepest fears, for beneath the walls, in a secret and hidden lair, lies a dragon, imprisoned and waiting…
Vengeance.
Her dreams in tatters, Sable Holdfast plots to bring the world of Dragon Eyre to its knees. With the gods gathering their strength, Sable embarks upon a campaign of bloodshed and destruction, vowing to annihilate the forces that occupy Dragon Eyre, as Blackrose, her reluctant ally, strives to protect the Realm of Ulna from the enemies that surround it.
At stake is not only Ulna, but the entire world of Dragon Eyre, and the future of the Ascendants. Caught between the wrath of Sable, the wild dragons of Wyst, and the mighty forces of Implacatus, Blackrose must fight for her realm, her people, and the survival of Dragon Eyre.

What readers are saying:
***** “I can’t see myself ever giving less than 5 stars, this series is one of the best I have ever read. The characters are 3 dimensional, flawed and therefore very ‘human’, more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing and all in all a damn fine read.”
***** “This is how all fantasy books should be written, great 8 book series. Christopher Mitchell is a author well worth reading.”
***** “I’ll be probably saying much the same in every review I’ve written for the Magelands Epic series, this is a superb story, great writing, great characters, great plots. Christopher Mitchell has created a place for himself amongst the best with this series and I look forward to more.”

***** “Unexpected twists and turns. New characters mixed with the old. A new war, new mage, and a new way to do magic that hasn't been explained yet. I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys good well written fantasy.”
***** “It’s the best and worst feeling when a superb series comes to a perfect climactic conclusion. Best as it gives the series what it deserves and is so wonderfully satisfying. Worst as it reminds the reader of just what will be no more, namely new additions. This is a perfect example of that dichotomy. Perfectly written, perfectly satisfyingly enjoyable and a perfect series ender - which I’m perfectly happy to highly recommend.”
***** "An amazing read that kept me captivated from the first to the last page. The story is amazing with epic scenes. This had me on the edge of my seat. I definitely recommend this read. I could not put this read down."
