Sick of everything being smothered with BLM and LGBQT.
ALL lives matter.....
I don’t need others life choices shoved down my kids and I’s throat. I don’t care to watch straight people make out and have sex so why would I enjoy watching otherwise.
Just saying.
I am absolutely not prejudice nor racist nor homophobic.
Definitely not.
I Just don’t appreciate it being forced on us, yes US as a WHOLE, each and every second of every all.
ALL lives matter.
Color is of no consequence.
I have 4 boys. They do not see color. That is how I have raised them.
I’m afraid the BLM community is their own worst enemy. Listen....and cops won’t get defensive.
Don’t give them a reason.
If a white guy reaches for “his phone”, he’s going to get a gun pulled on him too. The color don’t matter y’all.
Cops are trained, first and foremost, to protect and defend themselves.
If anyone, regardless of color, threatens their safety zone, that cop WILL defend themselves. That is their right for Goodness sake.
Stop forcing their hand.
Stop making it about color and instead, how about y’all Teach What Is Right By Leading By Example. Again, just saying.
I’ve said my peace.
Thank you for listening. Lol

5.0 out of 5 starsA movie well worth watching!

Solid. riveting performances across the board. But Whitaker and Depp are truly amazing. These two pros lose themselves in their characters and we get to watch as the on-screen men they bring to life develop a respectful, real friendship in spite of themselves. Very moving, true to life, down to earth story that reels you in right from the beginning tugging at your gut, your heart, and your brain independently and in unison. The decision to have Ms. Wallace play herself was golden.
Not a billion dollar blockbuster, but definitely deserved a big-screen showing as well as lengthier and more
promotion than it received. Still too soon for me to feel comfortable in a theatrical venue, but streaming was fine and afforded me the opportunity to revisit bits and scenes as desired, not to mention the whole film.

Johnny Depp and Forrest Whittaker are amazing in this movie. An insightful look into the corruption of the LAPD and the unbelievable cover up that ensued. Johnny Depp is Oscar worthy as the embattled detective who fights at great cost to himself for truth and justice.

Read a wikipedia entry about these two real life people and you'll have a more interesting story.
There is a reason this was shelved for so long. You can also tell they realized it was a dud and tried to Oliver Stone over edit it and fracture the timeline for no reason. Just tell the story linear, it would have worked so much better. Dull writing, dull directing. Johnny Depp can usually do something to make things interesting, here he has nothing to work with. They make his character just a handfull of watered down cliche's. Forest Whitaker has even less to work with in his character.

5.0 out of 5 starsA really good police procedural
Verified purchase
This is not only a riveting and tough true story, but also a really good police procedural & investigative reporting mystery. If you liked Spotlight, State of Play, Trial of the Chicago 7, or the shows American Crime Story and The Sinner, you will enjoy this movie! It has great direction, great script, great design, great acting, great use of archival footage and recreating the culture of the time, etc. It has the added benefit of the participation of Violetta Wallace, and I think it even got the stamp of approval of Russel Poole Jr, so it is really trying to be faithful and do the story justice.

Great movie. The acting was excellent. This movie surprisingly pulled at my heartstrings more than I expected. I loved the switch between the past & present day and the actual news clips mixed in that gave it an almost documentary feel.
