The main kid is good, everyone else is not.

I'm gonna be honest. It does not feel like this movie has a script. Or an editor. Or actors besides Clara. It's obviously low budget, and that's fine! That can be charming, but the dialogue is just way TOO realistic, they cut to Christmas decor to make the movie feel more Christmassy than it is, there are no real stakes, the scenes feel slightly out of order, everyone says just what they're thinking too much, the Chekov's guns don't always go off, and a solid 40% of this movie could be cut without actually cutting a scene or any relevant dialogue or action. I'd love to see the main actress in stuff in the future, but...oof. There's just not much here, gang. The premise of Clara's vlog being ruined is not put to any kind of good use and I can't imagine why. We don't even get to see her vlog videos! It's just...it's just not good.

Borrrrrring

The most boring, pointless, poorly written, miserably directed slosh that was ever made. You had two talented kid actors completely wasting their time and talents plagued by a horrible script and surrounded by a talentless cast and a listless family dog with a lobotomy that didn't seem to recognize anyone in the film! I was expecting a neat Xmas movie with some laughs, merriment and some heart for the holidays. But, I would have been better off watching a blank screen with no sound.

A Charming Little Film
Verified purchase
In today’s bombastic world of video games , special Fx, and digital media that forces kids to grow up fast, this charming little film brings traditional old fashioned values to the screen. The two child actors in the film are talented and adorable, and I appreciate that the film showed diversity and was a calming story involving family without a lot of flash. Some of the adult actors could use some training, for sure, but this is a sweet story with a happy ending. Nice and calming for kids. No violence. No poor language.

A sweet and very natural holiday film.

Kearstin Moore and Tiffany Cain were beautifully true to life as the fun-loving Clara and Clara's cool coping mother, Elsa. The story is a simple but thoughtful one about making the best of holiday stress that here includes grumpy neighbors, runaway dogs and husbands. And it was also very nice to see a real life Virginia suburban house and neighborhood.

Save yourself, stay away!
This was really bad! I am a sap for Christmas movies, Hallmark movies, romantic movies, etc. This was none of those. It was like watching someone's day to day mundane life....really boring. No real direction, no real acting. Was the director trying to make us think our lives are a waste just like this movie?!

Honestly, the reviews for this movie were more entertaining than the movie itself. I wanted to like it. But there's really no story line. It feels like they were all told to ad lib, and they aren't good at it. Hopefully the director makes some improvements and tries again :)
