An excerpt from this Stephen Curry biography:
We were all taught that children inherit the genes of their parents. Their physical appearance and sometimes even their disease history become part of who we are. Most of the time, we also copy their attitudes and mannerisms. In the case of Wardell Stephen “Steph” Curry, one cannot help but wonder if he also inherited the shooting touch of his father, Dell Curry. An NBA pundit said that great shooters are not made, they are born.

While he is still early in his coaching career, Steve Kerr will undoubtedly go down as one of the most effective coaches of all time when he retires, mainly because of his ability to relate to his players and maintain their composure in the most clutch in-game moments. There are a number of key leadership lessons that can be learned from Steve Kerr, such as maintaining your humility, maximizing the potential of each individual player, and communicating often with your team. - What is Steve Kerr's System
- Key Takeaways
- Conclusion and Steve Kerr's Legacy
An excerpt from the book:
Rarely do NBA head coaches immediately make an impact in the league where all the greatest minds in basketball coach the best athletes of the sport. It takes months or even years to try to convince the players and entire organization to buy into the system you seek to sell. It would take even longer to perfect that system while several other teams in the league are brandishing strategies and plays they have been using for several years already.
What is even more difficult is to try to lead a young team that has minimal playoff experience on your first stint as a coach at any level of basketball. But the Golden State Warriors' Steve Kerr did it. He immediately made an impact in a league that already had established title favorites coming into his first season as a head coach of the Warriors. He would shake the heads of contenders, critics, and fans alike by leading a young and inexperienced Golden State Warriors to a remarkable 67-15 regular season record and an eventual NBA title in his first season.

An excerpt from the book:
Dynamic duos in the NBA are not a rarity among some of the best teams in the history of the league. No great NBA player can ever lead a team on his own. Often, it takes another great player by his side to bring the best out of him. In fact, a lot of champions and contenders have had the luxury of having two players with perfect chemistry as they lead their team together.
Since the inception of the NBA, we have seen some of the best teams fielding two great superstars that work well as a tandem. In the 50'ss and early 60's, Bob Cousy and Bill Russell dominated the league as a duo. The 60's Lakers had Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. When Baylor retired, West started teaming up with Gail Goodrich. Around the same time, Oscar Robertson worked exceptionally well with a young Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Flash forward to the 90's, when nobody could ever forget how historic a duo Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were. They would win six titles together. Then, Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway started to turn some heads with their inside-outside combination. It was not until Shaq teamed up with Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles when he would win three consecutive titles. Later on, Bryant would pair up with Pau Gasol to bring the Lakers back to their former glory. And though the duo would not win a title, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were so dominant of a pair that it did not matter who flanked them.
Come the turn of this new decade of NBA basketball, the league has seen an evolution that trended more towards outside shooting and backcourt players. Because of that, there has also been a rise of brilliant backcourt tandems among some of the best teams in the league. Tandems composed of two guards have exceptionally been useful in today's league considering the increasing pace and reliance on three-pointers.

An excerpt from this Tom Brady biography:
In sports, you usually only remember the great ones and the players who were able to carry and reshape the entire sport because of how they dominated it individually as well as from a team standpoint. But while it is easy to point out the greatest players in many different sports because they are often judged using the same categories, football can be quite different.
The Mt. Rushmore of greatness in the world of football can be a bit difficult to chisel not only because the sport has seen a lot of greats who have paved the way for the current generation to thrive, but also because different players play entirely different positions and styles. Nevertheless, there are still those who stand out, especially when it comes to the quarterback spot and to the way they led their teams to Super Bowls.
When you are talking about the National Football League, there is arguably no one who is more accomplished than Tom Brady. You are talking about someone who has done and seen it all. This guy has won more than a handful of Super Bowls, been awarded the MVP, and made multiple Pro Bowls. Brady is on an entirely different level and what is more impressive is that he was able to do it consistently for a long time.

An excerpt from this biography book on Khris Middleton's story:
While we often are in awe of what the best NBA superstars can do whenever they are on the court leading their teams to possible title victories, we often forget that one player does not win basketball. Like many team sports, every superstar needs an excellent supporting cast that complements what he does out on the floor every single night. And in most cases, we look at the number two guy as the one responsible for carrying some of the load that the number one player can no longer carry. In most cases, we call these players the “sidekicks.”
To be called a sidekick or a number two player for a team in the NBA is not demeaning or insulting by any means. In many cases, it should be something that players should be proud of since not many players can be good enough to be considered the closest guy to the main superstar concerning what he can do and contribute to his team. As such, it is never rare for us to see number two guys helping out the team’s best player in the areas that tend to be too much for the top superstar to shoulder. And in most cases, the ability of the sidekick to shoulder the burden has been a critical element in championship teams over the years.
We have seen plenty of different number two options complementing the entire team set up and even delivering championships to their squads. Gail Goodrich helped Jerry West win his lone NBA championship back in the ‘70s because he picked up the scoring slack whenever the defense was focused too much on the Logo. In the ‘80s, we saw James Worthy playing the role of the number two guy to perfection as Magic Johnson’s main passing option in the Lakers’ Showtime era. Of course, in the ‘90s, Scottie Pippen became the quintessential sidekick in the sense that he did things that were already too heavy for Michael Jordan to do, such as guarding the opposing team’s best player, rebounding the ball, and acting as the top playmaker.

An excerpt from this Mike Trout biography:
Eight All-Star games. Three American League MVPs. Seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner. Four American League MVP runners-up. Six 30+ home run seasons in his young career. When we talk about the greatest baseball players of the game today, the first name that comes to mind for any baseball connoisseur is Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels.
In 2012, when the then 20-year old Trout played his first full season in major league baseball, he gained the full respect of his teammates immediately. “He is one of the most dynamic players I have ever seen, if not the most,” teammate Mark Trumbo acknowledged about him. Manager Mike Scioscia went even further. “He just does it in so many areas,” Scioscia said. “He’s doing it in the batter’s box, he’s doing it with the glove defensively, he’s doing it with his legs.” And there is more.
Inspirational. Awe-inspiring. Team-player. Role model. Heroic. First-class. When we talk about model athletes for teenagers and young athletes today, not just in baseball but in any sport, there aren’t enough adjectives to describe Mike Trout’s incredible impact on the youth population.
Trout has become the idol baseball player for hundreds of thousands of children who want to “be just like Mike.” (No, not that Mike. Baseball Mike, or as some know him, Philly Mike.). But Trout’s success goes even further back than when people knew him as an All-Star baseball player and future Hall-of-Famer from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The star outfielder has not only astounded fans with his play on the field, but he has also impressed with what he has done off the field.

An excerpt from this Wilt Chamberlain biography:
Wherever you go, and no matter what culture is concerned, legends, mythologies, and folk tales always say that giants once walked the face of the earth. These giants, as the stories would say, struck terror into the hearts of ordinary folks and were often critical pieces in the establishment of civilizations and numerous cultures and traditions.
While giants are most often confined to the realm of legends and stories, the same cannot be said about the NBA. The NBA has seen its share of giants throughout its long history. These giants have paved the way for the improvement and evolution of the game of basketball. Giants such as Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, and Yao Ming are among the most prominent big men the league has ever seen, but they might not have made it into the league if it were not for arguably the NBA's most legendary gigantic figure. That man was Wilt Chamberlain.
Wilt Chamberlain was a giant among men, if there was a term to describe him. Back in the day when the average height of the NBA was merely about 6'5" during the 1960's and when centers were barely 6'10" and power forwards were 6'6", Chamberlain was a towering figure and had earned the nickname "Wilt the Stilt" because of such. But height was not Wilt Chamberlain's best feature.

- Chapter 4: NBA Career - Getting Drafted, ROY, First Playoff Year, The All-Star Starter
- Chapter 5: Personal Life
- Chapter 6: Legacy and Future
An excerpt from this biography book on Ja Morant's story:
The NBA, throughout its entire history, has seen its fair share of different players with a good combination of positional size, athleticism, and talent. In that regard, the greatest stars in the history of the league have always been all about the potential that these players possessed before they even made it to the NBA. And most of these players were drafted as future franchise stars precisely because they had the potential to be great.
Some of the greatest players that were drafted based on their potential include names such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, Derrick Rose, and Anthony Davis, all of whom were players that already had the size, athleticism, and talent for greatness. And even if some players were not yet ready to take the league by storm when they were drafted, names like Kobe Bryant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and James Harden had the potential to become great as well but needed time to develop.
In that regard, teams usually define potential as a combination of skills, size, athleticism, and drive. As long as the player has these things covered, he will surely have a chance to become one of the greatest players. And, for most teams, drafting a player with the right combination of skills, size, and athleticism is already more than enough to secure a bright future for the franchise, especially if that player is competitive enough to want to give his all in order to be great.
One such player that comes into mind concerning his potential and his opportunity to be great is the point guard named Ja Morant. His potential for greatness comes from the fact that he has everything required of a franchise player ready to take a team to heights greater than it has ever reached before.

Learn the Incredible Story of Basketball’s Seasoned Veteran Grant Hill!
Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device!
In Grant Hill: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Resilient Forwards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's star, Grant Hill. Grant Hill was once the go-to man as a member of the Detroit Pistons. Despite several potentially career ending injuries, Grant persevered through countless surgeries and evolved his style of playing basketball to become a consistent contributing member of the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers in the latter half of his career. While he never truly panned out to the contract expectations of Orlando Magic fans, his recovery from injury is an awe-inspiring one of perseverance and grit. Many never thought he would ever grace the courts with his play after his first major injury as a member of the Pistons.
Here is a preview of what is inside this book:
- Early Life and Childhood
- High School Years
- College Years at Duke
- Grant’s Personal Life
- Grant Hill’s Impact on Basketball and Beyond
- Grant Hill’s Legacy
An excerpt from the book:
There are few sports leagues today as grueling as the NBA.
The NFL may be tougher per individual game, but they play just 16 games, with a normal rest of 1 week between games. Soccer’s Premier League may test its athletes to the limits with its lack of commercial breaks and constant activity, but even they just play 38 games in a season which lasts from August to April. The NBA plays 82 games, with teams sometimes playing back-to-back games and few days of rest over the course of a season. Then there are two additional months of playoffs, where a championship team will play somewhere between 16 and 28 additional games.
Given the physicality of the NBA as well as the strain of the long season, the most important quality an athlete can possess is the ability to stay healthy. It does not matter how high you can jump, or how well you can shoot or pass, if your body is unable to handle the strain of the NBA. That simple fact has left a dark and saddening stain on the career of Grant Hill, a potential all-time great whose brilliant career was derailed by an ankle that would not heal.
The particularly tragic part of Hill’s injury is that it could have been avoided. If he had listened to the screams of pain from his body which warned him that it could not take much more, he could have avoided the ankle injury which destroyed his career of greatness. But Hill chose to keep playing – partly out of pride, but partly out of a desire to avoid being hated.
In a sense, Hill’s high moral character ended up destroying his career. But at the same time, that same character enabled him to persevere where others would have lost themselves to despair. Hill worked and worked to prove that he still belonged in the league, and managed to carve out a respectable niche for himself even after his many surgeries. It was yet another sign of how great he could have been if his body had been a little kinder to him.

An excerpt from this Peyton Manning biography:
While many will claim that various quarterbacks are the greatest of all time, no other name comes up more often than Peyton Manning. And nobody can argue that his record does not befit this status. He has won five NFL Most Valuable Player awards, the most by any player. He also currently holds the league records for most passing yards and most passing touchdowns. He runs a no-huddle offense like nobody’s business. He was also able to turn around the Indianapolis Colts’ losing ways after the growing pains he endured his rookie season. He has reached the postseason in all but two seasons, and he won two Super Bowls. Aside from Tom Brady and his five Super Bowl victories, it is hard to argue any other NFL quarterback can be considered the greatest of all-time except Peyton Manning.
Peyton Manning is acclaimed for harnessing a passion and competitiveness for the sport of football greater than anyone has ever seen. In fact, many believe that he is compulsively obsessed with winning. Growing up with his father Archie, who played professional football as a quarterback with the New Orleans Saints for most of his career, along with having two brothers who are also extremely passionate about football—Peyton was practically bred for the sport. Even at the early age of 3, Peyton was already learning how to throw a football. His younger brother, Eli Manning, is a professional quarterback for the New York Giants and also a two-time Super Bowl winner.
Football is in Peyton’s blood, to say the least.
While Peyton has crushed many NFL previous records, he still could never be satisfied with his results. He always wants to become better.
