The basic plot was fine. Acting wasn't all that bad at all. Film photography was ok. Music was sickly repetitive. The way the movie was done, probably the screen play, made it SO very predictable, very slow to develop, plodding, and really kind of boring. I wanted to like this movie, but I was watching the clock most of the way through, waiting for it to finish.

I guess that sometimes once you invest 35 minutes into a movie, you hope against hope that you didn't pick the wrong movie, that you keep waiting for it to develop into something interesting. And, ya wait, and wait, and wait ... forever.

2 stars - generously given.

If I had a choice between 16:9 and 5.1 I would pick 16:9 like this movie is. I like the shooting. I very much like the story. This was first on 'movies that Prime thinks I would like'. That is a very good list.

Not a half bad movie! The plot is a bit hackneyed but the script pulls it off well thanks to a bit of a reversal in the usual way a cop gets revenge on the crooks who kill his wife. The pace is calm but never drags. The acting is always fine, especially Barry Corbin the old mayor. The bratty bitching teenage girl and the moping boy are painful stereotypes. At least the boy comes through positively in the plot. Why are the bad parts given to the Afro-Americans?

It was sad, but also worth watching. Makes me wish that love & bonds can be this strong!

Enjoyed the movie. As stated, bittersweet.
But...
Cloverbend, Colorado really (surprise, not filmed in Colorado, hahaha... I can say I've never seen "Old Growth" Eucalyptus trees growing there.
I only mention this because the trees have a good size part, hahaha.

I think they have the date wrong on this movie....he died in 2002. Good movie, but really wanted to kick that little boy right in his face. What a brat!!! Robert Urich and Barry Corbin make the movie! With out them it wouldn't be worth the watch.

Another C movie in the Amazon cheap movie arsenal.

Yes, it's takes its time compared to most movies now days that have to throw everything at you, but if you stick with it, it develops like movies used to - character and emotion. Great acting and a really nice story that has something to say about the complexity of loss and forgiveness. Really enjoyed it.
