Flimsy metal, but sticks much better than the stock Cobra windshield mount.

If these were more rugged, I think I'd give them five stars. The original Cobra suction cups never seem to stick very long for me (and I have had two Cobra radar detectors, both with the same issue). Apparently Cobra finally realized this, and they now sell replacement suction cups that are clear and supposedly hold to the window better. Still, by the time you order two of them and pay shipping, it's only a few dollars less than this three-cup bracket so I decided to try this (and get it 2nd day via Amazon Prime shipping).

When I first went to bend the bracket to angle it to my Prius windshield, the middle of the suction cup area bent very easily. This is very flimsy metal, so bend it back and leave it alone to avoid it breaking. Once it was adjusted, it stuck immediately and has remained stuck with no signs of slipping yet. I will update this review when/if it finally falls off, but so far it looks much better than the stock Cobra windshield mount.

Great for the money.

i bought the mounting bracket to get my detector back up and running. the original bracket had lost one of the suction cups, and it only had two to begin with. I have a ESD-9110 Cobra, which is almost like 15 years old :) but it works, and the bracket works, i read some reviews saying the bracket was flimsy, or the metal bent easily, i would disagree with that. I did not find the metal flimsy,it bent when i needed it to, but not so easily that it bent beyond where I needed it. having 3 suction cups is awesome, the detector barely vibrates, feels a lot more secure. Highly recommend this bracket and the 3 suction cups, and it fit my 15 year old radar detector

This bracket would not fit a Cobra radar detector. The tab that inserts into the radar unit was too wide. I have two Cobra units and the bracket would not fit either one. Amazon promptly refunded my purchase price. Amazon will not let you directly turn in an awful rating to the supplier feedback screen. If you check anything below the middle star the system throws you into a link you must click to go to Amazon to go into another series of "how can we help you" screens. So any feedback directly to suppliers is heavily filtered.

Better than the original set from Cobra

On my original Cobra radar detector, I removed the two suction cups and drilled my plexiglass motorcycle windshield to permanently mount the radar mount (with rubber washers on inside and outside and stainless washers, bolt and nut on outside of that). I hated taking this on and off to use in the car as well. This gives me a second mount so I can leave my first one dedicated to the motorcycle. This is better than the original due to the third suction cup in this design and there is less movement to the radar detector on bumps. Not cheap, but more effective and the only place I could find a replacement mount at a reasonable price.

Works much better than the standard 2 suction cup mounting bracket. Since the bracket is holding all the weight on one edge, more support is needed. This third center cup is that additional support. Be careful! The metal attached to the suction cups is very thin and will bend before the thicker flange. When you are adjusting the bracket for your detector, keep that in mind. Otherwise, it holds very well and is definitely recommended!

My issue is that the mounting bracket was longer than the original, so while I was driving the radar detector was shaking. That drove me crazy, so I removed two of the suction cups from this bracket and used them with my old bracket. The suction cups work perfectly. All in all, a good product.

So my biggest peeve is that many devices that attach to your windshield have VERY poor suction power. I live in Canada ,and in below zero conditions these suction cups DON'T suck, lol. This item has 3 cups instead of the 2 cup type that came with my radar detector. It has better holding power, but after 10 minutes on my window it still fell off. I guess I will have to be careful of how I speed on winter roads now, sigh...
