How Combat Gel Baits Work
|
|
|
---|---|---|
Place many spots or dabs of gel near areas of roach traffic and suspected nesting areas. Gel can be placed in cracks, crevices, and corners where roaches hide. |
Gel attracts roaches in search of food and water to the bait. |
Roaches ingest the bait and return to die in their nest. |

Sprays are contact killersSprays only kill the pests you see. Roaches not sprayed continue to thrive inside the nest. |
Gels kill at the sourceRoaches eat the bait and return to the nest and die. Other roaches eat them and die, creating a chain reaction. |
Baits kill at the sourceRoaches enter station and eat the bait. They take the bait back to the nest, share the bait, killing other roaches and destroying the nest. |

Product Description
Combat Max Roach Killing Gel formula attracts roaches with the food and water they need. Combat Max Roach Killing Gel starts killing both large and small roaches within a matter of hours. As a form fitting substance, Combat Max Roach Killing Gel is best used in cracks and crevices where roaches enter the home. Combat Max Roach Killing Gel kills both large and small cockroaches and can be used indoors or outdoors. Place baits throughout your home, so more roaches can find and eat the bait, resulting in a quicker and more thorough kill. This package includes one 2.1-ounce syringe of Combat Max Roach Killing Gel. For Indoor Use: 1. To apply gel: Remove cap from tip, touch tip to surface and depress plunger. Gel can be applied only as sports or in a line along cracks or crevices. For first application, apply gel in 4 dime-sized spots or several 1.4 to 6-inch lines per square yard. Recap tube after use. 2. Place many spots or dabs of gel near areas of roach traffic and suspected nesting areas. Gel can be placed in cracks, crevices, corners and spots where roaches occur. 3. Inspect gelt after one month and reapply if it is no longer visible. Refresh with a new application after 3 months. Gel cleans up with a damp paper towel. Discard towel after use.

At this point, I am just using for maintenance, but if you are using this to get an infestation under control, I suggest using in conjunction with a fogger or roach motel. I use this inside and outside and as long as I keep it up as directed, I see no roaches indoors. I’ve noticed I need to use the gel more often outside/ probably due humidity. I feel satisfied with my purchase and feel like it a cost effective way to keep the roaches away.

So you can imagine my frustration when the HOA exterminator only briefly sprays bathrooms and kitchen. They do not put out baits, they do not inspect wall outlets or anything extra than spraying whatever it is they spray. Clearly, their stuff does not work - it only infuriates the roaches. The roaches are also bold! They will see you sitting there with a glass of water (when your entire kitchen is bone dry because you are trying to keep roaches away) and come at your water - while you're drinking it! Yuck.
I've tried peanut butter with boric acid (idk if this helps at all, still see roaches), Advion bait gel, and now this. I put it out yesterday in different areas. I found a roach on the wall in the middle of the afternoon and so I put some of this in front of the roach. It definitely ate it and seemed to like it. So I'm really hopeful this works. I will update in a week and report back if it helped or not.
Update: A couple weeks and a couple applications of this stuff later, I haven't seen any live roaches for the last four days. It might be too early to be sure but I also haven't seen any in the common areas.
After placing two drops of the product in commonly seen locations, and waiting three days (as indicated on directions) I have yet to see another roach. Before using the product, I would see 1 or 2 per night when I turned on the kitchen light. Instead of smashing them instintivly with my foot/hand, this product did all the heavy lifting.
I feel like this product is also reasonably priced, and well worth the value (it definitely beats paying for an exterminator.
Lastly, we keep a pretty clean house (compared to the houses of friends I frequent), but we took extra care to sweep the kitchen for the first week or two (each night). I suppose that likely helped.
Happy killing!
I did rate a "three" for ease of use because the product does take a bit of pressure to get out of the bottom. I broke the one side of the plastic handle upon the first use. The product is still functional though.
I previously tried roach motels, but they weren't doing anything....felt more like they were multiplying.
I could no longer wait for my complex pest control so I bought two of these combat gel tubes.. the reviews seemed fair. Amongst other brands and delivery of pest control, this one seemed the most manageable and safe for myself and kids.
I used in my cabinets, under my cabinets and on countertops. I placed the gel on papertowels to place on my cutting board also.
Within a day I could see the difference. They pecked away at the gel under the cabinets until you couldn't tell anything was there. And I placed ALOT. Day 2 was even better and by day 3 I felt like I could cook again without the previously stated (and super gross) experiences. The pic of the paper towel is of day 4 and you can see minimal, but still pronounced pecking...but still there. I'll be using this tube for the rest of the week. And I have the second for maintenance.
For reference, compared to an unused tube, I've used less than half the tube by day 4.
If you're undecided....just do it.
