## This was an OK read. I liked the crime drama element. There were several suspects which made following along with the clues fun. And the hero & heroine had great chemistry. The heroine stood up to her horrible family which was admirable and the hero was direct when a woman kept coming on to him, touching him unnecessarily. All this was good.

What I didn't like was how the author took 60 pages to set up the story before it
really began. Of course SOME set up is necessary, but there was just too much boring info at the beginning. And way too many characters. I get that the author was setting up future books, but they didn't ALL need to be introduced in book 1. Lastly, I didn't like all the childhood flashbacks. I don't care to read about their conversations when they were 6, 10, & 13 years old. Perhaps just the one when Tori was 16. To me that was the only one that was relevant.

I'm hoping because this is the 1st book of the series, the author was just trying to set everything up, hence all the descriptions & abundance of information. I will try one more book before I decide whether I want to read the whole series.

I like this author's writing and have read several of her other books. I actually read this one awhile back and decided to stop about three books in and I couldn't remember why. Having some time on my hands, I decided to give this series another shot.

I have a couple complaints, but otherwise still enjoy her writing and will continue on in this series. I see there are quite a few more books added. The issues I have are the grammatical errors/ outdated phrasing and overall Hallmarkish vibe. I won't elaborate on this because I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

I still enjoyed the book and hope these issues improve farther into the series.

Coming Home is another great book from Maryann Jordan's pen, but also an awesome start to the new Baytown Boys Series. Mitch was first introduced to us in the hit series, Saints Protection and Investigations, where he worked in conjunction with the Saints as a FBI agent. After several years, first serving in the Military and then being a FBI Agent, Mitch returns to his hometown to take over as Chief of Police. We are introduced to his family as well as his childhood friends, the Baytown Boys. Even though he could not wait to leave the small town when he was younger, he is happy to return and even more so when he runs into his childhood crush, Victoria. When someone commits murder and targets Victoria, Mitch is determined to keep her safe while solving the case with the help of his fellow Baytown boys and new friends ... I see another spinoff ... I loved how the author gave us glimpses into Mitch and Tori’s past in this book. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not put the book down until I read last page - which was way into the early morning hours but so worth it! I am sucker for a good suspense romance and I was not disappointed! I can highly recommend this book – it contains a HEA and no cliffhanger. I am now waiting in anticipation for the next book in this series!

Tori moved back just before her grandma died a few months ago and now owns the Sea Glass Inn where she spent her summers and holidays growing up. She first met Mitch when she was six and he was eight and became fast friends with all of the Baytown Boys and girls. The more time and years she spends with them the more she and Mitch start to fall in love but neither says anything. Then life intervenes and fast forward years they are both back. Can they clear up lies told to her in the past by her bitchy sister and get back together? When a guest at the Inn is murdered, they realize she was the intended victim but Tori doesn't believe someone would want to kill her. Then when she is shot in the leg while her and the girls are out looking for sea glass, she start to believe it. Now the just need to figure who and why. But will they figure it out before she is murdered?

Let's get one thing out of the way first .... grab this book! If you're a fan of Maryann Jordan's works be rest assured that you will not be disappointed. If you've never read any of Ms Jordan's works then don't hesitate and 1-Click this and you will know why Ms Jordan is so beloved amongst her readers.

Now, I love small town romances. Maybe it's because I'm a born and bred citygirl and small towns have always intrigued me. Ms Jordan laid a solid groundwork for the first book in this series. I was thinking of how do I describe the pace of this book? It started off like as if you were taking a gentle and easy stroll, it might be slow but it wasn't boring because there are many things to see. Then when you least expected it, it shoot off in a run and it'll make your head spin. There was more than enough suspense to keep you turning the page. I was intrigued and I couldn't put the book (or in this case, my Kindle) down.

One thing that Ms Jordan excel is in the way she breath life to her characters. I know that going into this book I will love Mitch, that's because I love every H that Ms Jordan wrote in her books. However, I am picky when it comes to heroines, I hate ... hate the typical "damsel in distress" situation and thank the book Goddess that Victoria is not one of them. I love the connection between these two. Victoria has gumption and she has backbone. I like that the unfortunate misunderstanding that they had when they were in their teens were ironed out early in the book so there is no unnecessary drama. I not only love Mitch and Victoria, I truly adore the secondary characters as well. Those Baytown boys are sure hot, sexy and Alpha as heck! I see many future possibilities with them and I look forward to reading all of their stories.

Having written all the above, I have to say though that I'm not really liking the way the flashbacks were written. That is the only negative thing I have to say about this book. So go ahead and 1-Click this book and if you're a new reader, welcome to the wonderful world of Maryann Jordan where the men are Alpha panty melting hot and you will always have your HEAs.

Who would want to kill such a beautiful woman with a heart and soul to match, you'd be surprised Just like the Saints series this one has a lovely theme of sea glass. Clever and cunning writing. You will want to love the characters and you'd want to be on the receiving end of the passion. They must go to Kissing school! Brilliant
