I didn't like this book. Jan's other books on the Mitford series were delightful, but this one lacked being interesting. Found it rather boring. Too much bringing another story into this one. I struggled trying to get through it. I almost gave it up, wished that I had.
To those not familiar with the series, "Company" mostly takes place 5,000 miles from Tim and Cynthia's normal haunts, which means the normal cast of Mitfordites are for the most part absent except in the odd overseas phone call or letter. Therefore, don't base base your opinion on the series on this one book alone. It is the exception, rather than the rule.

Take me back to Mitford with all those dear characters - I really don't know what is in Jan Karons mind but its not up to her usual great standard
