How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing Adventure!
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2022
I loved this series. I am so glad that I got to read the whole series of five books at once instead of reading each book and then having to wait for the next. There was plenty of action in each book and lots of unexpected twists. My only disappointment was watching the percentage left in the series as it neared the end. I can’t wait to see what adventure Brandon will take us on next.

1.0 out of 5 starsI actually had to stop reading this

This story starts off pretty well - a semi believable plot with secret government agencies, new discoveries on new planets sort of thing. About halfway thru it devolves into some hare brained mish mash of ideas and never ending cycle of idiot characters. It's like a 5 year old wrote down every fantastic idea that jumped into his head every 10 seconds. All of the characters make stupid decision after stupid decision despite being "geniuses" or "the best" at what they do. It's a schizophrenic story with such a jumpy plot that the creativity is absolutely lost. I read hundreds of books a year and this one is very a rare one that was so bad I couldn't finish....

1.0 out of 5 stars Why do they call this stuff science fiction?

Spoilers....

Science fiction should create a logical set of assumptions, maybe a bit out there, but logically constructed. In return the reader suspends their reality view to join the author's story. Fantasy just makes stuff up as they go along, where basically "magic" is the answer to everything.

Why do authors keep trying to conflate the two. I stopped this after a few chapters. It was just pointless to try to make sense of it all, characters acted irrationally (and not on purpose, it would appear), the jumps in context were senseless. It begins on an archeological dig with a single person -- no one anywhere around. A military helicopter lands, completely unexpectedly, and the archeologist just gets in and flies off -- to Grenada. So thousands of miles, and this helicopter delivers them to Grenada apparently without a plane change.

But he's actually part of a Secret Space Force... or is he? He doesn't remember. He's crucial to some military (or is it) plans, but his guard just shoots him when he thinks he is running a bit amok (after his superior officer tells him NOT to shoot him).

It's random vignettes of action like some 12 year old's fever dream, nothing hangs together, nothing makes sense. And that's BEFORE Atlantis enters the picture.

Just say no.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Long Way To Atlantis

Where to start? Well, let’s start with the rating.

Generally I enjoyed the series. It held my interest & character development was superb. Someone did a better than average job of editing too.

The double star knock down comes for two reasons. The first was the use of course language. I’m one of those guys that thinks an author can develop character w/o it. Next our hero didn’t learn the lessons along the way. In my “opinion” the last book should have had him “ascend” to a higher level of self awareness & talent. My expectations of closure to the the progressive story lines in the first books didn’t match up.

Bottom line: It was an “ok” read. The last book needed more . . .

2.0 out of 5 stars A difficult read

This series was immensely difficult for me to finish. It was so filled with grammatical errors and gross plot holes. The characters are pretty underdeveloped. We have an idea of their irrationality but almost no physical description. The cities on Callisto are given more description than the main characters. I also cannot get over the glaring science errors. You cannot instantly communicate between Earth and Jupiter. There is only one mention of G-forces in the last book. The "magic" system with Chi is underdeveloped and not well describe do. I felt like we were missing a whole book about what happened on Taiyo. There was some misunderstanding between Rivkah and Jaxx that was somehow smoothed over and suddenly they're soulmates? Ascension isn't well described. The whole concept of "negative" and "positive" beings is completely glossed over. And did the Agadon get sucked into the vortex on Callisto or on Earth? It seemed to happen twice. And the sheer number of misspellings, homophone errors, extra words... Did no one edit this poor guy's book?

There's a lot of good ideas in the series but the execution is severely meh.

This story dragged me in like taking a roller coaster ride.
There are problems. It needs a proofreader and/or an editor. Way too many misspelled words and grammatical errors.
Difficult to read at times due to the frequent errors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall done right

The beginning of this series was slow while toward the middle the story line was somewhat confusing the story line was jumping all over the place had I have been reading 5 separate books instead of a series I would probably quit about the end of the third book, but then some exciting areas appeared so I just had to continue on just in case there was more coming, yes, there was more coming and finished the last two books satisfied that everything was right with the world. Yes it was overall an excellent read although I had my doubts around the middle, Sometimes I give up way too soon but not this time. Good job Brandon Ellis. Dan

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay story

I love reading stories that were written relying on spell check. Thus we get ''treatise" instead of treaties. And another thing coming instead of another think. And I get a chuckle from the guy our hero trusts to get his story before the public being a doper. I cannot read past page 114. Might be a good story in there, somewhere. All the cliches are in there, including government agents killing people with drug overdoses.

This was an exciting action-packed space adventure. The characters were well - drawn evoking different emotions depending on whether the character was good or bad. Lots of surprises. I'm an editor. I recommend that the author gets a better editor because incorrect words were used in addition to a number of typos.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth more, poor scoring system!

As my headline said, I'd prefer to give a higher score. 3.5 would be closer to right. The scoring jumps from 60% to 80%, I'd take a 70% anytime.
This story is actually five books long, and it is long, they are full books, not 220 page things. Be prepared for a whole weeks reading here. Enjoy!
