5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good
By joey on September 15, 2021
Not going to lie I was skeptical about this product but with all this shortage nonsense had to give it a shot especially with a guaranteed return so why not and lo and behold. I received the product I thought I got a dead product at first but then I realized it's doing what supposed to do with the fans. They weren't turning on but then I did some research and the fans don't turn on unless it's over 40 to 50 degrees Celsius which my GPU is average on 44 degrees C even though I have a tight fit

5.0 out of 5 stars For better or worse, it's definitely a GTX 1050 (I ordered 3 and all of them work)
By MLR on October 4, 2021
Giving a 5 star review because it is in fact what it says on the box and it works.

Normally that wouldn't count for much and I'd focus on the merits of the product with respect to a plentiful retail market with an abundance of options and features. However with the GPU market being what it is right now and these being GPU's distributed from a market presently cracking down on cryptocurrency, I was expecting that these might have been used cards from a crypto-mining setup or worse yet might have hacked firmware that allows them in Windows to report as a GTX 1050 when they might be something else. I'm happy to report that the product I ordered 3 of is the product I received 3 of, and in my personal case all 3 GPU's arrived functional.

I paid $200 a piece for 3 GTX 1050 GPU's for 3 of my nephews who just built computers. I have a 4th family member and a friend who are also looking to buy their first discrete GPU's and I just ordered 2 more from them before the seller bumped the price from $200 to $230. At the price point of $230 I would say its probably not worth it, just get an APU and stick with integrated graphics until the market normalizes. That, or pay a little more and get a GTX 1050 Ti from sellers listing at $300 (that's still 2x or 3x markup though and I wouldn't bother unless you're desperate).

Lastly, I've personally repasted the thermal paste of 2 of the 3 units I initially ordered. I can confirm they are actually Nvidia gp107-300-a1 dies just as they should be so there's no funny business. GPU boxes didn't arrive in plastic wrap, but Gigabyte's warranty stickers over the ESD bag were in-tact, so the cards are presumably new but have just been sitting in some warehouse since 2016.

Don't expect stellar graphics, it's a GTX 1050. I ran New World, GTA V, and Fallout 4 for a bit. They all comfortably managed 720p with absolutely no problem, but scaling up to 1080p you're going to need to make compromises. If your thing is esports however, the GTX 1050 handled Valorant at 1440p high settings without dipping below 60 fps (might have gone higher, monitor I tested on was frame locked), and I even played Dark Souls 2 for a bit at 1440p and that also never dipped below 60 fps (though I never left the starting area). Lastly I tried a little bit of Deathloop for a newer title, but it was basically unplayable even at 720p low.

My test setup used a Ryzen 9 5950X with 64GB of memory clocked at 3600Mhz, so all those games were performing in their best case scenario for this card. Your mileage may vary if your system isn't fast enough to get bottlenecked by this card. $200 should buy you more, but until the markets are better, this is an option to consider as a stop-gap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card for the money
By Joseph Greenwood on October 4, 2021
Was a tight squeeze in my HP tower( i7 processor, 16gb ddr3 ram, SSD hard drive, stock 320w power supply). But it works great! I did have to get a 6pin Pcle power cable for it, this was my first upgraded video card so I did not know lol. So far the fans have only turned on once, they are quieter than the stock cooling fans on the tower. The card lights up and changes colors, wish I had a clear side panel.
This card has good picture quality And all of our games seem to play great. My kids have played games all day and it never got warm.
For the money this is a great card, in my opinion.
No complaints here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised, arrived new in packaging
By hello goose on October 8, 2021
I was a little skeptical, I ordered this for $200 and I knew that would have been expensive a year ago, but it’s cheap these days. It came in new packaging and worked out of the box no issues at all. It’s not the greatest GPU for gaming, but when the alternatives are >500 it’s a steal, definitely beats your CPU’s integrated graphics. I paired it with a cheap 10th gen i3 and my daughter is getting playable frame rates in fortnite at high quality and it gets above 144fps in bedrock edition Minecraft.
