A beguiling novel of revenge, deliverance, and a powerful sisterhood of magic by the Washington Post bestselling author of The Vine Witch and The Glamourist.
Sidra didn’t murder her husband. Yet even a jinni can’t wish away a wrongful imprisonment. Determined to prove her innocence, she returns to her adopted home—a French village renowned for its perfume witches—with her friends Elena and Yvette by her side. Here is where Sidra’s true destiny awaits, but danger also lurks in the village’s narrow lanes.
On her trail is Jamra, another jinni, who’s after more than revenge for the murder of his brother. He also seeks vengeance for the indignities inflicted on jinn by mortals over the centuries. When he learns of an ancient relic capable of unleashing chaos on the world, and that the weapon is in the hands of his murderous sister-in-law, he vows to destroy Sidra to get it.
Relying on a sisterhood of magic, a mysteriously faithful dog, and a second-rate sorcerer, Sidra defends herself using the village’s greatest asset: its perfume. It’s as beguiling a lure as it is a formidable shield. But is it enough for Sidra to protect herself and those she loves from powers yet to be released?

Who the fudge was the sorcerer that Jamra used? It seems like a loose end because evil jinn!!!!! I am. Probably incomprehensible right now but I literally just finished the book 2 minutes ago and my emotions are still high so I don't know why I have this need to know who the bastard sorcerer is who helped Jamra. Of course, he could have been compelled to Jamra's work. But... Uuuuuugh. It just screams like loose end to me. Maybe I need to calm down first.

But yes, I love how this wraps up the trilogy very well. We see each woman use her innate ability to help each other as they did in the other books. New characters come, familiar characters remain, and things come to a close.
But, it's Luanne that sparkles, drawing a big delightful world full of magic, mystery, genies, fairys, witches, good and evil.
Such a fun, delightful, adventurous and entertaining trip through and to another world.
And topping it all off, it's a love story !
One of the main things for avid readers, I think, is that the 1st 3 books - I'm hoping there will be more - are clean, with little, if any, spelling, grammar or punctuation errors to annoy or break the spell of the story.
The 3 stories are somewhat independent, without cliffhangers but far more satisfying/enjoyable if read in order to completely understand the characters relationship growth.
The stories encompass certain characters from the first book to flesh out & develop more fully in succeeding stories, a lovely way to continue a series!
Fully recommend this book and the series!
This story is like a beautiful tapestry woven together with love, loss, betrayal and redemption - an absolutely wonderful diversion!

Who would have thought that there were so many differing talents amongst witches, fairies and jinnis? There is as much variety in the worlds of magic as there is in the world of mortals. There are also as many conflicts.
The worry is that powers of magic make those conflicts even more dangerous and devastating than wars and battles in the mortal world of man-made armaments.
In this final book of the series, Sidra is being pursued by her brother-in-law, Jamra, who is out for more than revenge for the murder of his brother. He believes that Sidra murdered her husband. He knows that she has, in her possession, an ancient relic that holds a very powerful and destructive magic.
Sidra is supported by her friends, Elena the vine witch and Yvette the fairy. A dog and another being are also lurking on the periphery and you always feel that this pair are also there to ensure that Sidra prevails over Jamra, but there are seeds of doubt which add to the tension.
The writing is superb. The pace picks up as the story races towards its conclusion and the uncertainty about how events will turn out keeps the reader’s attention throughout.
I am left wondering if Luanne Smith is a witch or a fairy or a jinni. She certainly has great knowledge of those magical worlds, which she imparts with great integrity. I hope that she will be on my side if I ever run into a battle with supernatural beings.
I recommend this book and the whole trilogy. It kept me gripped from beginning to end and was thoroughly entertaining.

What’s not to like? Fae, witches and genies and this book cracked along at a blistering pace: much more action than the predecessors. But it’s not just about magic, it’s about female friendship alongside the fantasy. Absolutely loved it!

So I couldn't resist The Vine Witch and the following books.
What a delight all three were to read, each title reflecting each key character.
The story evolved and twisted like an old wisteria drawing one in.
I had an inkling about the furry creature being a romantic, but was delighted with the outcome of the story.
Magic is all around us if we just open our eyes, and what a magical author Luanne Smith.
All three a must read, looking forward to reading more of her novels.
