5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful Scripts and Stories
By N. OMeara on July 11, 2020
The Connected Parent book has reminded me of all the things I learned when we first brought home our adopted kiddos. It reminded me just how large a role fear plays in our family and that speaking in a soft tone and making eye contact are powerful tools I can use to connect with my chronically afraid child. I'm thankful for the reminder that my kids need to feel safe before they can thrive. I'm also thankful for the scripts and stories Lisa shared so I can see what parenting this way looks in real-life situations.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is hope and healing even in the chaos!
Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2020
The insights, compassion, and advice given by Dr. Purvis and Lisa Qualls in The Connected Parent has brought renewed hope to our family. As a mother of 3 children by birth and 2 by adoption, I was losing my way in this parenting journey. I was blessed to receive a review copy of this book, and our family has already started on a path of healing, renewed compassion, and hope as we put into practice the wholesome advice given along with the real-life examples shared in the book. May all who read it be similarly renewed, encouraged, and strengthened!
