Consumed: Deep in Your Veins Series, Book 4 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Svente vampire Ava Sanchez has a difficult decision to make: Should she accept the invitation of the Grand High Master Vampires and join their legion? It will mean leaving behind her brother and her home. It will also mean working with Pagori vampire Salem McCauley. Unlike the majority of vampirekind, she doesn't fear Mr. Tall, Blond, and Dauntless...even if he does have some psychopathic traits. In fact, he has a raw sexuality that tempts her to drop her 'no relationships' rule and give him exactly what he wants from her - everything.
Salem McCauley doesn't like anything cute, or sweet, or cheery. Yet he wants Ava with a desperation that's bordering on obsession. And shockingly, she doesn't look at him like others do - you know, like they fear he'll rip out their spinal cord for fun. Now that the legion will be busy hunting the players involved in the creation of an illegal vampiric brothel, there's no time for pursuing Ava. But Salem makes time, because he never denies himself what he wants, and he always holds tight to what's his. And that's exactly what Ava is, whether she knows it or not: his.

Consumed continues the Deep In Your Veins series about Sam Parker, Jared Michaels (The Grand High Pair) and the vampires that serve and protect and live along side them. As with all of Suzanne Wright's books, the characters are explosive, authentic, genuine, and so completely real that they jump off the page. The world that Wright has created is just... wow. I love it so much. It is such an incredible, wonderful place to be.
In Consumed, the story follows Ava and Salem. It was so refreshing to have such unique, fun characters. Ava was a happy, upbeat, little energizer bunny vampire. But she was also kick-butt, witty, and snarky. She was such a relatable, endearing character. I really loved reading about her.
Salem was SO. MUCH. FUN! God, I freaking loved this guy. He was a caveman when it came to Ava and I adored every second of it. Some people get put off by the whole possessive thing but I'm definitely not one of those people. He was passionate, rough around the edges, dark, and stubborn. And I fell in love with him almost instantly. I thought it was hilarious and so freaking cute when he would pick Ava up by her shirt like a little kid. And when she called him her warm, cuddy bear and he'd scowl at her or grunt or grumble. The chemistry between these two was fiery and perfect.
The thing I love about these books is that yes, there is sex but there's also PLOT! Imagine that, haha! Not that I have anything bad to say about a good old rompin', smuttastic tale but these books ascend to a level that not a lot of books can say they get to. The balance is perfect. You've got fantastic character development, laugh out loud humor, exciting, on-the-edge-of-your-seats action and adventure, phenomenal world building and a book that is amazingly well written. Oh, and super freaking, delicious, panty-melting sex. It's a combination that makes this series absolutely addicting and un-put-downable.
In short, the title is very appropriate– I was indeed, Consumed.
Ava and Salem were the perfect opposites attract and I really like that Ava was so different from the other really tough female characters. Don't get me wrong Ava can be very tough but she's also fun and sweet and a bit flighty. She's almost always upbeat and playful. I wasn't sure how much I'd like that as the book went on but it turned out I liked it a lot. Maybe because it fit so well with Salem's more broody and serious character. She had the ability to calm him down and not take everything quite so seriously. Ava saw Salem for who he was and accept that and Salem did the same for her. The chemistry between the two was great and I enjoyed the sex scenes between the two of them.
The plot of the book was interesting and I loved the introduction of the demons (guess I'll be checking out her other series now). There was plenty of intrigue, action and even some humor. I loved the way Salem just picked Ava up by the back of her shirt and carried her off. I enjoyed getting to see some more of Sam and Jared and all the other characters from the earlier books as well. If you're a fan of this series read this book and if you haven't started this series read it from the beginning.

Loved seeing the short glimpse of Knox in this book, and hope there may be a book in the future with some more overlap.
Whilst this book isn't as fab as the first 3 in the series, Wright's writing style and the interactions between Ava and Salem make this a enjoyable read.
Here we are at Book 4 in the series and it's no longer based on Sam and Jared, but this time on the unlikely pairing of Ava and Salem.
Tons of humour, drama, action and hotness from our couple as they fight their enemies and amongst themselves!
Wonderful series so far!
Another good read
