Final punctuation at the end of a wonderful series
Verified purchase
For those of you who are familiar with Corner Gas the series, you know just how great this show was. It is a show made in Canada by Canadians that is full of intelligent humor, silliness, and running jokes that keep you laughing episode after episode, season after season.
Every character from the main ones to the background characters are perfectly cast and you really learn to love all of them. Each one is tremendously funny and play well off of one another.
This movie is the final punctuation on the end of a brilliant and much loved show. I am sad that it is gone as shows with this kind of magic don't come along often especially for those of us who prefer family friendly comedy. I highly recommend it.

Double Hooray

Two Hurrahs! First, because this was a fine wrap to the Corner Gas series. Second, because it was available on Amazon Prime.

We very much enjoyed the first five seasons of Corner Gas, and were disappointed and saddened when Season 6 came in sort of sour and flat. It felt like the whole cast was just playing out its hand at that point. So, we approached the movie with some trepidation. Well, everyone's back and looking good. The energy is high and the sharp crosstalk is better than ever. The movie has a clever plot that ties up nicely and leaves a cozy afterglow. This was an excellent entertainment.

I tried to find this as a DVD, but it was pricey enough I didn't want to gamble. Imagine our surprise when this movie, (and all six seasons), showed up as Prime choices. What a treat, and a happy find.

It was Wonderful revisiting Dog River! My husband and I loved the series and were so sad that it ended. I was so excited when I accidentally discovered this movie existed but was almost afraid to watch after having been disappointed by a Different series that came back only to give us a terrible ending. However, Corner Gas did Not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed it! The only disappointment was wishing there would be many more delightful episodes to look forward to. We actually watched it again a couple of nights later! Love Corner Gas! Wish they would do more!

Andy Griffith of Canada

I Have a wide range of what I think is funny from obsurd to obscene from slapstick to simple and Canada seems to have all the above. Trailerpark boys is my #1 favorite show and Corner gas is my #2 and letterkenny comes in 3rd. Although if there's anything Canada is hiding from me I'd love to find it. Corner gas is like my new Andy Griffith it's a simple setting with a great cast of original personalities. It makes me want time travel back to about 2006 and stay put. I live in a small town in Illinois and I remember a simple life and not knowing how good it was to be so bored. Now with smart phones and social media it's just not the same.

Like an extended episode of the show

Sometimes when a favorite series has a movie made, I'm a little hesitant because it can be really hit or miss. But if you're a fan of the TV show, the Corner Gas movie keeps up the spirit and humor of the show very well. As sad as I was to see the series end, I'm glad they decided to end it on a high note instead of pushing it until they ran out of material like a lot of sitcoms try to do.

If you haven't seen the series, I'm not sure how the movie would hit if you weren't already familiar with the characters, but if you're looking to give Corner Gas on the whole a try, especially if you've ever lived in a small town, it's great for a laugh without any unnecessary drama.

The rarest thing in the entertainment world is a TV series converted to a full-length movie that doesn't suck. Corner Gas: The Movie is a unicorn, but it exists. Loved it. Laughed at it. Wrote a good review of it.

I love corner gas!

If you like corner gas is much as I do then you will find this movie to be very satisfying. I might even go so far as to say very very satisfying. It has everything you would expect from corner gas in terms of the story, the humor, and the characters. Dog River is the same familiar and friendly place that fans of the show remember. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this movie. The jokes were great and I laughed throughout and had a smile on my face until the end. The only thing it left me wanting was another movie.

For those of you who have not seen corner gas I highly recommend you seek it out and watch it. It is the best family-friendly entertainment you're going to find. Like Johnny Carson always managed to do the humor is adult but yet acceptable for people of all ages. I own the entire series and now own the movie I've watched every single episode so my review is one that comes from someone who knows the show and what it should be in the movie lives up to that.

I was missing Corner Gas in my life....

I lived in Las Vegas from 1998-to-2015 and at some point, I discovered Corner Gas The Series being played on a cable station, from Chicago or similar. I was taken with this series and for a while the station would play it all day long on a weeked. It was really funny and well written and I really enjoyed all of the episodes. I missed it when I came back to Utah and then was thrilled to find out on Amazon Prime I think last year. I had never seen The Movie until I found it on Prime recently, so I've watched all the episodes and season 1 of the animated version (waitiing for the 2nd season which is playing now on TV). Anyway, loved the movie, I loved how they fleshed out the story and brought in characters like Fitzy to have a bigger part. I just finished the movie last night and can't decide if it's too soon to watch it again. Wish Brent Butt and crew weren't done with it. There is lots of pieces on YouTube that I've not seen so I'll get some fix there!! Go Corner Gas.
