I love this series. This is just as entertaining as the other stories. Charlie has been hurt from a past girlfriend. April has some horrible things in her past also. Charlie recognizes April to be his fated mate, and April is fighting that. There is some drama and also the slow healing of two wonderful people. April and Charlie were wonderful together and I enjoyed the journey they took to get to their ending. . I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this story just like I liked the others except this one took to long for the couple to get together but when they did they fell fast. I was on the end of my seat worrying about the horses I don't want to read about animals being hurt. Which they weren't in the book. This one had the drama and excitement just like the others.I was a little worried with the last chapter. Pick the book up and read to find out what happens.

I can't believe how exciting it has been to read about these dragon brothers of the heart. How good friends inherit a ranch and hotel from their friend and mentor. How each of them found their mates! And now Fate is extending their luck to their extended family and friends by finding their mates for them too! I enjoyed reading this first to follow the original 6 and can't wait to find out how the next book goes!

On his way off the ranch to de-stress, a pickup truck comes flying down the ranch road and barely stops in time to avoid hitting Charlie. April was hired o help out on the ranch and with the trail rides. This story has some action, contains romance and steam, and ends in a HEA plus a surprise. Highly recommended.

This is book seven of the Cowboy Dragon’s Inn and the main characters are Charlie and April who meet in almost a collision as she drives her old truck into the parking area at the ranch, in a hurry to start work there for the first time. He was looking for some time off from leading trail rides and he finds out that she has been hired by the other bosses at the ranch, including his half-brother Pierce, without them actually telling him. Their reasoning was more to help keep her recent past secret, than to hide the hiring from him, as she had been getting clean from an addiction her ex used to control her, until she finally left him! Charlie has his own painful past that has left him unwilling to love another woman, no matter what attraction he had for anyone. April knows how to handle horses and people and now has to try and prove herself to Charlie, whilst he is mainly angry at her all the time. She needs the job and gets a small cabin on site to live in, having been referred by someone who knew her, to the bosses on the ranch. She has tried to put her past behind her, but it will soon raise its horrible head and bring danger to her and those around her.
April tries to stay out of Charlie’s way as much as she can, but as she starts to realise she is attracted to him, she knows she can’t rely on those feelings after what happened to her in the past, when she let her emotions and feelings for a man take over her common sense. She is hard working and well organised, soon getting all their supplies in order and even finding the previous owner’s wife’s saddle in the back of the tack room, after it had not been seen for years. After proving herself and showing how well she works, she is asked by Charlie to come on a five day ride with a large group of clients, which will challenge her and some of the others. A quick side trip to take her fishing in a lake nearly ends up with an animal attack, until Charlie jumps in to save her. She faces everything with strength and courage and he is finally able to tell her about what his former partner did to him, just before their wedding, after she got pregnant. He also has to come clean about being a dragon shifter and the magical bond he feels for her, but he doesn’t want to push her away by giving her too much information at once. The last secret is a hard one to swallow until seen in the flesh, which will happen shortly, as danger comes stalking her! She was broken by the previous man she thought she loved and vowed never again, but Charlie manages to get through her defences and show her how much he will do to protect her and keep her safe.
Each book is a standalone read showing one of the men falling for a woman and having to save her from harm in some way. Sexy and steamy romance, that is never quite straight forward to easy to come by, especially with the secret the men hold within. The end of the book also gives a slight glimpse of what is to come and who is next for fate to match. A thoroughly enjoyable read and series, with men who put women first and would never allow them to be harmed. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
