I absolutely love this book. The characters are complex and relatable. I've read this book three times. Ms. Sola is a genius in creating the personalities of every character, from the main couple Jake and Sandy, to Vivi the cousin of Sandy introduced at the end. This book is filled with family and couple drama, laughter, tears, angst, passion, love and forgiveness. I have found a treasure in Ms. Sola. I can't wait to dive in and explore her future endeavors.

I have read the Takeover series by this author and decided to give this book a go. I really really really love Sandra and Jacob and their relationship.. he was terrible in the beginning I have to admit but then you read the backstory and your mouth drops.. I could never forgive a sibling for something like that.. it’s just weird. That’s the only complaint I have with this book… Troy/Tracy and their disgusting entitlement for something so lowdown. Troy never loved his brother to cheat with his girlfriend.. if he loved his brother what the hell would an enemy have done?!? I kept expecting a soap opera twist like the Dad wasn’t his Dad and Troy was taking his anger out on Jake but no.. Troy was just a terrible person..

I read JD's story first and loved it. Although the books in the series can stand on their own, they give intriguing glimpses into the other characters that make you want to find out more!
Sandy and Jake had great chemistry. I loved that Although she was attracted to Jake when they first met, that attraction alone was not enough to hold her there when she realised the dysfunction in the family. I loved how Sandy's failure to communicate was dealt with in the book. First her mom warned Jake that she keep things in then explodes. When she was on the brink of this explosive meltdown Jake confronted her, after remembering her mom's words, and encouraged her to speak her mind.
Jake understandable carried around so much hurt, bitterness and anger. He was betrayed in the worse way by his brother. Healing from that can't be easy and i loved that the writer showed it to be a work in progress even at the end

This story was full of hot steamy sex with two main lovable characters. I love how strong the black Queens and how their Kings treat them like true Royalty. There is a big part of story that concerning the other characters deceit that I found off putting but Dee was a rockstar who had the support of her family to help heal her man's heart and bring a truce to the disgusting situation. Jake should be the blueprint of how a man should treat his Lady. He had to let go and accept the love and it was beautiful.

The book dragged somewhat 're Troy, Tracey and Make drama. As usual the author created a !likeable host of characters. Looking forward to Luke and (Vivian?) Story. Just to add not a fan of what Troy and Tracey did - they could simp!y have say Make down and told him they were in love insteAd of meeting behind his back. I am glad though that Jake forgave them as unforgiveness hurts him Jake more.

I really struggled to finish this one. Couldn’t stand Jake or his mother. Sandy was a bit of a disappointment, too. I thought she was going to be more like her mother, but she was just as judgemental and unforgiving as Jake and his mother. You know the characters I did like? Troy and Tracy. Also the dad and Luke. It’s been 5 years and yet Jake refuses to move on. He keeps saying he doesn’t love Tracy anymore, yet his actions say otherwise. I had a huge problem with Lil (the mother) and the way she treated Troy. So much so I ended up needing to skip over her scenes so I could get to the end. Troy deserved better from his family. He made a mistake and he’s pretty much ostracised. Yet of Jake makes a mistake, there are no consequences for him?? Don’t know if I’ll read another one from this author.

Crave is the first book in the Clark Family series by Evelyn Sola. I have read a couple of Ms. Sola’s books now, and this is definitely my favourite, so far. The story oozes angst, drama, push-pull, past hurt, family dynamics, chemistry, some humour, and sizzle.
Jake will definitely have a lot to work through, and will need to let go of the past if he has any hope of making a future with Sandy.
Sandy is strong and independent woman, a hard working nurse who knows when to leave well enough alone. So, after an intense connection when they first meet, things crumble when issues arise from the past. So is Jake wants any chance, he is going to have to work hard to earn it.
What awaits in Book #2? Mmmm I wonder….
