I guess people do pay for looks? And I'm one of them...?
This cocotte (petite casserole, ramekin?) is fun to use. I use them for eggs in cocotte, soufflés, pot pies, single serving desserts, and whatever else I can reasonably fit in them.
They are kind of pricey, and you can use a ramekin or some other thing to do the same thing, but it won't look as good. And I'm pretty sure there's something about looks influencing the flavor of a dish.
Ordered 4. Note they are 8 oz which is what I wanted. But the packaging was a joke. The box was 2x3 ft and o my needed to be 1x1. No packaging inside so the boxes were in free fall most of the trip. One was broke. I'll be returning that one.

These are very small casserole pots but they are also very cute and functional. I bake individual dinner rolls in these when I run out of room in my regular stoneware casserole. These are perfect for pork pies and French onion soup. That can also be used on the table for butter or other condiments. They are dishwasher safe and mostly non-stick.
