David Conyers is a science fiction author and editor living in Adelaide, South Australia. He completed a degree in engineering from the University of Melbourne, and today works as a tender writer in the construction industry.

David has published over fifty science fiction and horror short stories, won several awards for his writing, and edited five anthologies including one of the first fiction collections to explore the concepts of exoplanets, Extreme Planets. For over a decade he was the Arts and General Editor and reviewer for Albedo One magazine where he interviewed many top science fiction writers including Iain M. Banks, Greg Egan and Will McIntosh.

His extensive portfolio of Cthulhu Mythos fiction includes his popular Harrison Peel espionage versus the Elder Gods series, and for more than a decade he was a prolific contributor to the Call of Cthulhu tabletop role-playing game.

Today David writes contemporary thriller fiction novels under a pseudonym.

Nice Stories; But Not Genuine Cthulhu Mythos Tales !

It's another one of those collections by a reasonably competent author that has written several very nice horror stories, but at some point during his publication schedule, the editor or his agent decided that maybe the book would sell better if it were presented as A Cthulhu Mythos Collection, so the author; perhaps reluctantly, went back and sprinkled a few Cthulhu Mythos words and phrases through his stories, but they are Not Genuinely Cthulhu Mythos Inspired Stories !
What's most annoying is that The Mythos vocabulary is really very surprisingly limited, it's as if he didn't even have the time to look up a glossary of Mythos terms before beginning his re-edit...!!! ?

Calling this a collection of Peel stories is misleading. After reading a quarter of it, I realized I'd been lied to. This is still horror and references things from the Peel stories, but it lacks the characters or action that make those stores a good read. Don't waste your money.
