Mark W. Schaefer is the author of the world's best-selling book on Twitter (The Tao of Twitter), the first book on influencer marketing (Return On Influence), an essential book on blogging (Born to Blog), a beloved introduction to social media marketing (Social Media Explained), a path-finding book on content marketing (The Content Code), a book of essays (LESSONS), the world's most popular book on personal branding (KNOWN), and "Marketing Rebellion" an Amazon best-seller that is a spell-binding look at the unexpected future of marketing.

His new book, "Cumulative Advantage: How to Build Momentum for Your Ideas, Business, and Life Against All Odds" guides readers on a path that helps them stand out in a world of overwhelming information density -- when sometimes even being "great" is not enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down!
Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2021
As soon as I closed the book, my heart was full of hope. That last chapter really got to me.

This isn't a book about networking, its a book explaining how to make networking work for you, not only to help grow your career or business but to spark ideas too. It explains the line, it's not what you know but who you know (that knows what you know).

This book is not only for marketers but for anyone looking to create ideas. This book also is great for anyone who has read Mark's book: "Known" and "Marketing Rebellion" but needed more!

I really enjoyed getting to read personal stories from Mark and his career and how it can help myself personally. I definitely want to hear it once it's available through Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Having an idea simply isn’t enough
Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2021
I’ve been an avid admirer of Mark’s work for a number of years and am always eager to hear and read his sentiments on all things marketing/content marketing. The best thing about this book is that it can be applied not just to those in that field but additional fields in which marketing can be implemented. Like other reviews, I relate to reading in the style of a fireside conversation. This read is an inspiring one for those who have any creative idea to learn how to expand, channel, and diversify that idea in a constantly changing world that is always in search of a new and next big idea turned successful endeavor.

The main gist I have gotten here is that merely having an idea isn’t enough, part of what makes that idea successful is creating momentum, longstanding purpose and steadfastness in the midst of noise and persistent busyness. A huge thanks to Mark for this project, it’s just what the business world needs in our current circumstances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another must read for entrepreneurs and young people

What a book. Arrived today. Completed today.

It goes onto my suggested must read books.

For entrepreneurs and I would suggest beyond that for any young person 18-25

The easily digestible and formulated road map of success and the warnings signs are told through engrossing stories and examples.

Reading a book by Mark Schaefer is much like sitting with a friend a getting some great advice you learn , you also learn so much more about him.

Chapter 10 “The Afterword” is a powerful piece all on its on. I hope it moves many as it’s moved me.

I also recommend marketing rebellion and known.
