What can I say? Great acting from the entire cast and an updated storyline, which kept things fresh and exciting. People will complain that "It's not like the original!" Well yes. That's the whole point. The basic premise is the same, but this new version takes things in surprising and interesting directions which keeps you guessing until the very end. Villainess Catalina gets a younger, sexier makeover. And even though she had big shoes to fill when compared to original Maria Rubio, Paz Vega makes the role her own, managing to create a Catalina Creel that's even more nuanced and evil than before! My only question is Will there be a Season 2???

Although it's only a mini-series, "Cuna de Lobos" harkens back to the days of the big budget, nighttime soaps like "Falcon Crest" and "Dynasty"" focusing on the wealthy and beautiful Family Dynasty, and all the scandalous drama that comes with it. Two sons, pitted against each other, by a vengeful, one-eyed bitch, who happens to be their mother. Beautiful and evil, complete with the sexy eye patch, Catalina Creel wants her favorite son, Alejandro, to be the beneficiary of their father's fortune, Of course Catalina has a favorite, since her other son, the drug addicted Jose Carlos, was the one responsible for poking out mommy's eye, when he was a mere child! The stipulation of the Will is simply that...the son who is first to produce a child to carry on the Family name...inherits everything. Catalina is determined to see Alejandro inherit the Estate, and she will not let the fact that Alejandro happens to have no interest in women, prevent him from finding a wife and producing an heir; Mother is so intimidating that Alejandro goes along with it. This is a sexy, glossy production, with a beautiful cast of dark haired Spaniards. I have to say, I prefer the shows that Netflix produces for it's foreign market. Thanks so much to amazon Prime for including the necessary English subtitles, making this series available to an English speaking audience...

Since this novels was made for tv daily episodes, the stream version of 25 episodes is fair. I'm sure a 10 episode season would've been perfect for streaming. The nice thing about long seasons is that allows for a lot of character development which writers knew how to take advantage of.

What I liked about this version. The character of an empowered woman who turned into a villain but in the end she was only a mother wolf defending her cub demonstrating her love in her own twisted way of what love is. Catalina creel evilness grew as the season advanced.

What I didn't like was her clothing. Catalina creel was filthy reach. Why wasn't she dressed with the best clothes? Versace, Louis vuitton,Christian Dior. The original Catalina Creel was very clever and careful when planning crimes. This Catalina Creel wasnt as sharp and committed too many errors. That was disappointing.

I was immediately caught by the title of this series. I grew up watching this telenovela as a kid in the late 1980s. So glad I found it. The premise is similar but very much modernized. Which makes it more relatable. I loved all the characters, they are all great actors. It's a telenovela with twists and turns that made it very exciting for me to watch. But there is a 'campiness' to it. Meaning, when I explained an episode to my husband I bought myself thinking, OMG is this plot I just described really coming out of my mouth? LOL. I do recommend

Inmediatamente me llamó la atención el título de esta serie. Crecí viendo esta telenovela cuando era niño a fines de la década de 1980. Me alegro de haberlo encontrado. La premisa es similar pero muy modernizada. Lo que lo hace más identificable. Me encantaron todos los personajes, todos son grandes actores. Es una telenovela con giros y vueltas que me hizo muy emocionante verla. Pero hay un 'campiness' a él. Es decir, cuando le expliqué un episodio a mi esposo, pensé: Dios mío, ¿esta trama que acabo de describir realmente sale de mi boca? LOL. ¡Lo recomiendo!

In a word....boring, slow, trite, cliched, hackneyed. Okay, in several words. If the first episode is indicative, then the series is boring, slow, trite, cliched, hackneyed. Acting is flat, at best. Story is a cliche. Writing is hackneyed. Pace is sadly slow. Despite all that I'll give it one star. Only because they make me punch up a star. What they need here is negative stars. This mishmash would get at least one negative star.

I never watch high budget extravaganza soap opera miniseries, but Catalina sucked me in and I watched every episode, hoping she would be defeated.
The only character I had a problem with was Leonora, who kept saying what a strong, independent woman she was, but spent most of her on-camera time crying, screaming, begging and turning her back on real love. Next to everyone else, her character was boring.

A spellbinding journey... So gripping, dramatic, and tragic. There are a few plot conveniences, but outside of that, this telenovela is a cut above. I've heard some people complain about the main character's ending, but I think it's fitting. She's a wolf, so the ending is perfect!

The story line drags and drags and keeps you hooked on the same thing over and over again, plus its kind of cheesy, stopped watching it in the middle of one of the many episodes. Gave it 2 stars cause the story line was good if it just didn't drag I would have finished watching it.
