waste of time

Don't waste your time. The entire movie I kept hoping something would happen. I mentions prayer a couple times which i guess is how they call it a christian movie. The girl goes against her christian principals and gets cheated on throughout the entire movie. avoid this movie i feel like i just totally wasted 2 hours of my life

Mediocre at best!

This movie had a typical story line. It could have had some real substance but it wasn't flushed out enough to give it any real credence. The concept of cheating in a relationship, as in the triangle presented is pretty worn out. There was no real drama or real conflict honed in on other than the cheating. Although the mother finally tells the daughter about the father, no real attention was given these circumstances either and the ending was so weak. There was no conflict regarding the divorce, the altercation between the married couple lacked any real impact. She hits him with a brick from his old coach which just happened to be available and leaves him on the floor injured. She kicked his lover out of the car after discovering who she is and meeting her in the parking lot. The lover, Sheena, screams that she will be hearing from her lawyer. Instead, you never see her again and the husband only to sign the divorce papers. The husband never pays the child he wanted aborted so much as a cursory glance and wouldn't participate in her nurturing. This movie could have been excellent and sent a great message, instead all it really focused in on was the husband's bad attitude and cheating. It didn't even show the opening of his restaurant. Apparently, even with a child, all the wife got was her freedom...not even the house. She moved back home. Finally, she enters a store that gets robbed and who else shows up, but the upcoming journalist who always liked her in college. This movie needed major work. I certainly wouldn't watch it again

thoroughly enjoyed it

Instead of teaching our youth some parents rely on that 'look to God stuff', you can instill actual wisdom in your children IF you have acquired any yourself.
I could see myself in Mya making many of the same young women mistakes - the rush to be in love, straddling a guy with a baby before he can even figure out who he is and the pain of betrayal when you find out the man you thought was so special is too full of insecurities himself to fill you up.
Yes, the writers and cast really nailed it.

B rated movie with a point

This movie starts out very slow but it soon takes off with a plot about a young sheltered Christian girl that doesn’t know bad when she sees it. Instead, like most infatuated or in love they see what they want. The journey of many young people learning to discern then separate themselves from the wrong people. In my opinion, it is a Christian, a real movie and maybe one for even youth or young adult groups because the language is not bad and there are no love scenes etc.

Also, the movie could have a different title for the cover and title are misleading. Ideally, it’s a decent movie for sharing or teaching a message, similar to Spike Lee, which is - Wake-Up!!!!

All the signs were there for this young woman but she ignored it until it appeared she was in so deep, married with a baby, financially dependent, etc etc. I believe this movie could be a wake up call for many to see that some people see marriage as a business deal or arrangement versus partnership and companion, etc. worth the watch

Not bad for a low budget film

This film was not too bad, but could have been better. For a low budget film I did not expect much but was a bit surprised. I have friends who have been in relationships with men exactly like Dotson, so on that note this film has some accuracy to it. However, there were some inaccuracies like the baby's cake had the name Grace but Mya called her Haley. I did not like how she let him off so easy, I understand wanting to be rid of him, but at least secure a future for your daughter. Other than that I did like watching the movie and hope some women can learn from the mistakes Mya made.

The only thing good about this movie was the story lesson at the end from her mother. It is hard to watch her make all these dumb decisions with this guy and ignore them when he gave her OBVIOUS signs from the first date.

I nearly did not watch this movie after reading the reviews. It begins slowly and one will easily give up on the movie. However, after watching the whole movie I decided it was worth it. A naïve woman who learnt from her mistakes and moved on

The Moral/Life Lessons towards the end won it a 3rd star...

I like the fact that the movie had all up and coming stars, it gives new actors a chance to showcase their skills and talents, but, I would beg to question the casting choices. Only the lead actor and her sister looked as if they were young enough to play a high school senior/freshman in college. The movie also seemed "all too predictable" and unnecessarily drawn out. And lastly, the title just seemed just a tad bit misleading. However, all in all, this is a decent movie without the nudity, or the overwhelming sexual innuendos, it was nice to sit down for a change and not worry about whether the children would walk in on something totally inappropriate.
