Standard cyborg plot...good acting...

This version of Cyborg was a good cast. The acting was quite good from the star cast members while the others had few lines.

Bruce Greenwood is a great actor who plays the evil scientist part quite well. Like most evil characters he doesnt see himself as evil and just feels hes done what he was supposed to do...Create the Ultimate soldier from a human soldier using nanobots in his body to heal him quickly which makes killing him very difficult. He rationalizes every evil step he takes as justified to get the job done.

Rich Franklin (former UFC mixed martial arts champion) plays the Cyborg. While his peformance is not exactly oscar worthy, its convincing enough to play the killer cyborg who in this movie is the good guy.

Also the beautiful Tiffani Amber Thiesson (Saved by the Bell) plays the deputy sherrif who is taken along for the ride as Isaac the Cyborgs reluctant sidekick as her life depends on him surviving.

The story follows the cyborg as he escapes from the corporations custody and learns along the way who he really was before being turned into a cyborg. He shows compassion a few times along the trip to others that lets you know hes not just the killer cyborg he's supposed to be.

Theres a good deal of action, both with weapons and hand to hand. Also the evil scientist has an ongoing mental challenge to his authority by a corporate rep (played by Wendy Anderson) who causes him as much grief as the escaped cyborg.

Its not a bad movie on its own. Although if you've seen one of the Cyborg series you pretty much have seen them all. Just different actors and places. But the overall theme is usually nearly the same with a few small differences.

I wouldnt say this is a great movie, but its entertaining enough to enjoy. Still though, not a movie I'll likely remember a year from now.

Better than I expected

The movie is more enjoyable than I expected. Yes, it was somewhat predictable, as one knew sooner or later there would be a scene when everything would be spelled out in considerable detail about his creation and past. However, the cyborg, Isaac, was made very human and not a simple killing machine. One has the evil off the books project where he was created, employing goons that were far worse than Isaac. And the very amoral Simon, who started it all. What takes this a notch above is the relationship between Isaac and Deputy Reardon as the movie allowed them to connect in a very human way. It kept my interest and really was not filled with lots of CGI special effects until the last explosions at the end. I had fun watching it.

I Truly Enjoyed This Movie

Listed in IMDb as Cyborg Soldier, this low budget film this is actually quite good. It's unlikely to win any awards but it's fresh it's fresh and interesting. The storyline is that of cyborg ISAAC (Henry Rollins pseudo-look-alike) escaping from his facility.

Acting by lead characters is decent enough and believable even for a sleeper movie. This is the perfect rainy Saturday afternoon movie. It'll fill your time without leaving you wondering if it was wasteful.

A great Science Fiction movie - an unexpected surprise.

This is one of those movies that you want to say "where has it been hiding"? and you also want to say "how come I have not seen this actor before?" Rich Franklin plays the cyborg and does an excellent job. Unfortunately for most of us, this Ohio lad's true love is Asian Mixed Martial Arts which he is still very active in (One Championship). This movie has such a low profile it is hard finding any information about it. IMDb has just the basics and Wiki has 4 lines and only three of the actors listed. Rich Franklin would be a good character for a Bourne, Jack Reacher, or Bond movie.

Entertaining and the main actors were really very good

The main character played by Rich Franklin as well as the supporting cast of Bruce Greenwood and Tiffani Thiessen I felt did a very good job - the rest of the cast didn't have many lines.

Rich Franklin played the character of Issac in a way that engendered sympathy for him and made you curious about what was going on. There weren't a lot of fight scenes but the ones there were were well done.

I felt that whomever was responsible for the script took great care to try to make sure that the story stayed on track - often with movies where the budgets aren't megabucks - the story telling gets very loose and looses credibility because they expect you to overlook things that detract from and undermine the storyline. They didn't do that here. I think it is a good movie.

Among all the "cyborg" movies, this one was really well done!

This movie was originally released as "Cyborg Soldier", retitled to "Cyborg: The Ultimate Weapon".
In my opinion, this was an intelligent science-fiction movie.
The cast had some major actors, and all the characters except four (and associated acting) were believable. You figure out who they were.
There were twists and a mystery component to this movie that kept my interest all the way to the end.
Definitely worth a watch.

I tried for Rich

After ten minutes, these are the questions I have:
- Does every scene have to include feet?
- How hard is it to make a bad guy with more substance than cardboard? Diehard had 20 bad guys, half of whom never said anything and were still compelling. Just steal one of theirs.
Anyone ever hear a cop that was NOT chasing donuts breathe as hard as TAT after the first shootout in which she did all of nothing?

Not my usual genre but, with quarantine, decided to give it a go. Surprising myself I really liked this movie. The acting was quite good and, although the plot was mostly predictable, the ending surprised me. An overlooked gem of a film.
