About D E McCluskey
D E McCluskey was born in 1973, in Liverpool, England. He is the author of novels, graphic novels and comics. He lives with his daughter (an author in her own right (at the age of 11) with her children's adventure The Hangry Hamster), his partner, her daughter, and a sausage dog called Ted.
He began writing in 2011, creating his first comic publication entitled Interesting Tymes, an anthology of short horror stories written in rhyme for children and adults. This was quickly followed by the second in the series, along with a spin off. Dave then moved on to more adult related fiction, releasing a number of one-shot comics, followed by his first, full length book, the graphic novel, Doppelgänger.
More graphic novels and comics ensued, including a collaboration with artist Joe Matthews to produce a retelling of the classic Christmas tale, A Christmas Carol, only this time rewritten completely in rhyme.
Dave then turned his sights onto writing novels. His debut novel The Twelve was released in 2017 to great reviews. This was followed by a collaboration with a local, Liverpool music historian, to produce a historical thriller called In The Mood… For Murder, based in Liverpool in 1946.
Dave likes to work mostly in dark, or mainstream horror, although he has cross genres into extreme horror, comedy, thrillers, romantic drama, and children's books.
He is also working with a number of other authors/comic creators, in collaborations in their works.

Great story!

I'm unbelievably glad I took the chance on this book.
I can't lie, I was a little nervous about reading this book at first. I'm not much of a sciencey/serious person, so I wasn't sure if it would work for me, but I'm a sucker for anything even vaguely historical. I just can't help it. Especially 1888 Whitechapel history.
I was worried some of the more futuristic stuff would turn me off or be too confusing for me but I understood 99% of it. And trust me when I say that's a big deal. I've read some of McCluskey's other books, so I knew I generally enjoyed his writing style, and I wasn't disappointed at all.
I loved the twist on the old theory of Jack. I was completely caught off guard by what was going on and I really can't give enough praise for this story. McCluskey's creativity and ability to really show you the story really came through. I liked the idea of a religious cult, I mean, who doesn't right? It was just crazy enough to be plausible.
Overall, great story, great writing, great creativity and unique enough to stand above the rest. Well done.

A time-travelling SciFi fiction with an attractive and meaningful cover you'll understand once you read?SIGN.ME.UP🤩
Ever since I read a SciFi trilogy in 2014,I have loved the genre. What more do you need when you add time-travelling? It's a perfect recipe to attract me,like a moth to a flame🥰💃
In the initial few chapters,it was hard to understand what was happening, just like the characters,I was wondering WTH!?!? A purple hue doing strange things that a technologically advanced Earth couldn't understand just like Youssef said 'the events were like nothing he had seen before'.As the story progressed with 3 POVs,I understood what was going on but let me tell you one thing,I couldn't guess what would happen!! I mean,I was on the edge of my seat, flipping through the pages as fast as I could and I couldn't even guess the ending😯
So,I would love to say this without spoiling it for anyone out there,if you want a good SciFi+time-travelling+suspense+wonderful narration in a simple enough understandable language...do yourself a favour and grab your copy now! (less)
The reviled Scrooge is visited by three spirits who teach him what life is really about.
The tale has been turned into rhyme, and the warm illustrations compliment the scenes perfectly, making this a delightful new twist to the story you know so well. Could it be a new addition to your Christmas traditions?
Kevin is your normal, everyday kind of guy.
An office worker in a multi-story tower block in downtown London. He feels his existence is being swallowed up by the monster metropolis where he lives and works. Ignored, lonely, and lovelorn, he's desperate for a life, a reason to go on.
He has one in mind. His coworker, Rachael. She is everything he has ever wanted.
Four thousand miles away, in America there are other ideas about everything someone has ever wanted...
As hostilities between two superpowers escalate, a new weapon is created. Agent Z is a super-weapon, capable of delivering a devastating blow to the enemy. If it was ever to leak into the populace, however, it would be something else entirely.
Love is a many splendored thing. Humanity, however … that is fleeting!
Z: A Love Story is a wonderfully gory Zombie-rom-com from the crazed mind of D E McCluskey, author of The Twelve and CRACK
Three Gruesome Murders. A shooting, a garroting, a drowning… all in different states with no connections between the victims.
However, as the victims are identified, it appears they are not model citizens. Add to that, the fact that a calling card has been left at every scene...
A single white feather!
But this is no ordinary white feather.
It is becoming apparent there is a serial killer on the loose.
As the body count rises, FBI Agents Cox and Symes are plunged into a cat and mouse chase across the USA, and beyond, to find the elusive, brutal killer. All they have is the description of a thin, white male with a blond beard, and the trail of strange white feathers. But just like his calling card, there is nothing ordinary about this killer.
Judge, Jury, Executioner... This contract must be fulfilled

A Great Read I Didn't Want To Put Down.

A Great Read. Take a well written and thought out storyline, no noticeable typos, and combine it with a great pace of events and you find yourself drawn in turning page after page, you just can't help yourself. The Characters were well fleshed out with enough detail to make you care about them, yet not too much where you'd wish them dead, if it hadn't been for the Hubby reminding me it was late (and the ever present need for sleep beckoning me), I probably would have read this book straight through, even so I finished this book in less than 3 days . Highly Recommended.

Blown Away
From the start of this book I just couldn’t put it down. It’s an amazing story and kept me engrossed right up until the end. I actually did guess the end but only at the last few pages. Mr McCluskey you are now one of my favourite authors.
She’s young and beautiful and has just had her fairy-tale wedding to the man of her dreams, the man who makes the butterflies in her stomach swoop and swirl.
Life is looking rosy indeed.
Then, a cruel twist of fate changes everything.
After a devastating accident, every day seems to be a battle—with doctors, with her sister-in-law, with herself.
Her beautiful blue butterflies have turned to black.
A desperate mistake leads her onto a path she doesn’t want to tread, and her life begins to spiral out of control.
Will anything bring her butterflies back?
Butterflies is a beautiful, warm drama. In a break from his usual genre, D E McCluskey has written something that will tug at your heartstrings.
After an impulsive purchase, and to the chagrin of his wife, Tom hangs the mirror on his home office wall.
At first it was just the little things. Working late and forgetting to come down for dinner, but then his world begins to spiral out of control.
Strange dreams, violence and bloodshed overshadow his life, yet he cant seem to remember anything.
Is he going mad? Is it all in his head, or are there other, darker forces at work?
Doppelgänger is a dark psychological horror from D E McCluskey, author of The Twelve and Crack. Artwork is by Lukasz Marko. Produced by Dammaged Productions.
