5.0 out of 5 stars DCeasd is Back
By Brennan Rules on April 27, 2021
Just finished and I can’t recommend it enough. I loved the first one. The Unkillables was a good way to see more sides of the story. This one is right up there with the first one. Would like to see this brought to the screen in a R rated animation like the JL DARK films

4.0 out of 5 stars Spoiler free review - Less Taylorism’ humour, but not as good as the first.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 9, 2021
Where to start?
Hmm...
I promise there isn’t any spoilers in my review, just incase you haven’t read it.
The Taylorism humour still does my head in and it is less here, but still cringe and eye rolling.

The art, it’s great. Really rustic and graphic. I personally love it.

The story? The dialogue and forced cringe humour can just make me feel sick to my bones.
‘Stupid Super Hearing’ being an example. I just find the humour so forced and it’s just too much at times for myself.
The story is great in all other respects, but the ending feels rushed as hell.
It seems to build up and up and up then it’s over within 1 issue.
I’m not one for dragging out a plot, but I do like a satisfying ending and it just seemed to be over in several pages.
There’s also a few loose ends that never got resolved that is a little irritating. Will there be more to tie up the loose ends?
Constantine - I love the character, but I feel the American and some Aussie writers write him like he has a London accent rather than a scouser.

The plot again was fine, but at times it moved too quickly and it just doesn’t hold a candle to the first DCeased.

The book itself is lovely, with some nice covers in the back and and the cover is great. The colours of the art are fab.
The pages are rather cheap feeling. I miss the Diamond comics thicker glossy paper of yesteryear.

All in all, Taylor is a fine writer, but his forced MCU humour is just too forced and cringe.
As Ollie/Green Arrow (A character I can no longer stand under Tom Taylor’s penmanship) said ‘You’re Over Doing It’ with head in hand. That sums up my feelings perfectly.
The story is a fine ending to a great series, but the plot ended far too early in my opinion.
The loose ends should have been tied up unless a new series will tie them up.

Is it recommend? Yeah, it’s a fine and half original-ish story with some great art. It’s mediocre compared to the first comic, but it is a great time waster.
