Interesting to read from Damien's point of view

I have read all of the books from the Stark series and all the spin off series from the Stark series. This is the first book that we get to read what is happening from Damien's point of view. The story picks up where Lost with Me ends. Damien is questioning himself about how he thinks he has failed his family - Nikki, Lara, and Anne - after the events in Lost with Me. It takes Nikki to remind him that he didn't fail but has always put his family first and tries his best to protect them from harm. Even though the kidnapper was apprehended and confessed to his crime, it appears that there was more than what they first thought. The suspects from Lost With Me are back to being suspects and of course, Damien's father is is one of them.

Damien, Nikki, Ryan and his security team, and their friends continue to try to find the mastermind of the kidnapping as the past keeps coming back to haunt Damien and Nikki. Sophie is still in the picture but Nikki still has a hard time trusting her. Damien and Nikki is there to help Bree (the nanny) decide what she wants to do with her life and lend their support to whatever she decides.

As usual, even with all the craziness that is going on around them, Damien and Nikki's love and attraction are still deep and hot. It is this love that gets them through whatever comes their way and makes them stronger!

I can't wait for the next story about this wonderful couple. I don't think I will ever get enough of reading about Damien and Nikki, their love for each other and their family and friends, and spin off books about their friends!

THIS. This is why I love this genre. This is why I stick with stories and authors. Because after 5 years and 150,000 (or so) books and novellas about Nikki and Damien, there is still something entirely new. Who knows why Damien finally started talking to Ms. Kenner, but thank all that is holy that she was awake and smart enough to listen. His voice is absolutely delicious. And she really got into his head. I, for one, hope that she stays there for a very long time. Please, Julie. This is the best Nikki/Damien book of them all. Plot, rhythm, snappy dialogue, all our old friends, sex, love, Damien with kids! This one is everything. Keep talking, Damien. Keep listening, J. I will keep reading stuff like this. FOREVER.

So I read all the series. I was really excited to hear Damien’s point of view. All series were written in Nikkis’s point of view. I feel that the love scale is always tipping down at Damien. I feel that Nikki loves Damien more than Damien loves her. Damien is always mysterious and always with secrets. Sometimes, Nikki is very needy for Damien and at times portrayed as spineless when it comes to her needs for Damien.

The first book: some key points I want to point out. Great steamy scenes, good dialogues, and story line. I did not like Jamie because she was whoring herself and at one point, I hated Nikki for trusting her so much with Damien. I almost thought that Jamie will sleep with Damien because she slept with Ollie who happens to be engaged and also their friend. It was a relief that J. Kenner did not go in that direction or else I would stop reading right there and right then. Cheating is a no-no for me!

The second book: Nikki was portrayed as very needy and clingy to Damien. I almost stopped then. Damien is always secretive and mysterious and it was hard to believe that Damien loves Nikki other than their great sex. But I was intrigued so I decided to continue reading.

Damien Book: I was just intrigued about how this saga would end since Damien is always mysterious. I’m excited to see how his mind goes. I love that this is their story as a couple. Their journey portrays love and how they battle obstacles and coming out stronger and victorious. I love this. Most books are written as how they become a couple. Once they become a couple, the story ends. This is different and I love how Jenner wrote about their love, and great sex despite handling kids and family obligations. It is very inspiring that they still have great sex after all these time.

Some questions I have for the author:
1. Are they going to have another baby? Nikki got pregnant twice despite one miscarriage. There is a strong chance she could get pregnant again despite her condition. Who would manage Damien’s empire when he gets old? It would be nice if they have a son that could follow his legacy.
2. Nikki is a beautiful woman or portrayed as one and she was in numerous beauty pageants in her teenage life. The saga always depicts Damien’s women past and present. Most of their obstacles are always about Damien’s ex girlfriend: Sofia, Giselle, Carmela and so forth. It would be nice to read that Nikki also has a man that can make Damien jealous so he can fight for her. It’s kind of unfair for Nikki. She is supposed to be beautiful but the saga is always about Damien’s women.
3. Could you write another book this time more about Nikki with other men wanting her rather than Damien’s women? I really feel that Nikki loves Damien more than him loving her.

I adore this couple but my word do they get in some predicaments. The love they have is so deep and intense, one that any normal person would give anything for. Twists and turns, investigations and people wishing them harm as always, the team trying to figure out the kidnap and the vandalism fròm the previous book, nothing is as it seems. I get sucked in and lost in their lives as I'm reading these books, the characters both broken from their pasts but so strong together, some fabulous friends around them who all pull together whenever needed. I love all the characters, all the intricate twists and complications that just keep me enthralled. I feel lost when I finish and have to let things settle before diving into something else. This exciting new book is an illumination of Damien Stark life. His point of view dominates the story. And although he is a billionaire and entrepreneur, we learn how vulnerable and sometimes alone he feels as a husband and father.

Moments of melancholy, despair and sadness colour his domestic life when he thinks too deeply and doubts his ability to keep his two girls and Nikki safe. He feels that even with all his billions he has failed them. Nikki is his happy place but he does not always listen or confide his concerns to her. She refuses to give up on him.

There is element of suspense when he and and his security chief Ryan race to find who has vandalised his wife's new office and who was previously responsible or involved in kidnapping his youngest daughter Anne. Sofia, Damien's childhood friend makes a reappearance in this story and is identified as a possible suspect. But is she?

This sixth Stark Saga book is phenomenal. You must read it asap.

Oh my goodness what a fantastic book ,I’ve read all the previous books and have loved them all but this one is outstanding , It picks up the story where the last book ended . With Anne safely back home after her kidnap ordeal and with her kidnapper Rory in prison one fly In the ointment still remains the person responsible for trashing Nikki’s new office is still unknown ,Damien & Nikki though are trying to get back to some sort of normality . Unfortunately the normality doesn’t last long and everyone goes back on high alert once more as it becomes clear that Rory was not acting alone by kidnapping Anne and the hunt is on to find out who is responsible . As the book description says it’s told though Damien’s pov ,you get the usual hot sex between him and Nikki, but we also get an insight into Damien’s relationship with his father . Although it had been suspected that his father knew of the sexual abuse towards Damien we find out that he was indeed completely aware that his son was being abused all those years ago and did nothing to stop it . The story is fast paced full of action and drama before we get to the dramatic but somewhat sad ending . Looking forward to the release of the next book in the series .

Self doubt and inadequacies raise their ugly heads

Took me a while to get into this particular instalment. Damien does not appear as strong in this novel, more self obsessed about his inability to protect his family and almost a pity party attitude. Eventually the light switches on and we get back into a very good storyline. One where Sofia plays a very large roll. I don’t intend to give the plot away. There are some new characters such as Quincy and old characters such as Jamie and Ryan. Anne and Lara are as adorable and interactive as ever. To me eventually the story cranks up to be an excellent read, but initially there were an awful lot of in-depth erotica scenes, that although very spicy, did not always appear totally significant. This lady sure knows how to write, but for me took a little longer to knuckle down and enjoy, hence the 4 stars.
