Another great story in this wonderful series. The strong friendships lead to a good support system for Diego in his search for his mother and brother. He gets so close, but finds his mother is gone and no idea where his brother might be. Following a lead that puts him in danger along with Tara who is searching for her missing best friend leads them on a journey taking them from Columbia back to the USA. Getting shot at, an attempted kidnapping, a plane crash, and finally getting back to California and the support of his friends and fellow agents leads both Diego and Tara to finding what they were looking for, solves a mystery that has been plaguing this group of friends, and brings them to a love they never expected to find.

Boring Me To Death

I really should avoid Barbara Freethy's FBI series since, as I recall, most of the books bored me, and even though they're not actually very long (as in under 300 pages), it takes me many days to get them read. This book is no exception and I stil keep reading it for a while, then putting it down again and leaving it there for days at a time.

I don't find it exciting at all, and I really don't care much for any of the characters. I just want to get it finished since I paid for the trade paperback and hate wasting money.

In the past, Barbara has had a couple of suspense novels I didn't like so I should have learned better by now.

This book has a lot of suspense and danger through the whole story. There are really two story lines woven into one with plenty of excitement along the way. The level of intensity of the danger and suspense throughout the book was a bit much for me sometimes. The fast romance between Diego and Tara added to the story. It is an entertaining book and part of an entertaining series.

I wish I could date this as 4.5 stars as my only gripe is that Diego's brother Mateo/Michael and Tara and her "sister" would be hard to match up - too much of a coincidence. Other than this, it is an exciting read with characters you either abhor or root for. Excellent plot and a very enjoyable read .
