Harry Dresden’s sorcery goes on a Supernatural-style road trip. Cool car sold separately.Paxton Locke is the son of a Witch.
Family drama is bad enough without adding human sacrifice to the mix. Ten years ago, his mother killed his father in a grisly ritual that Paxton interrupted. Now he criss-crosses the countryside in his RV working as a paranormal investigator while Mother languishes in jail. She’ll never forgive him for interfering…or for stealing her spellbook.
It started as a normal job for Paxton. At least as normal as speaking to ghosts ever was. But then the terrified shade of a murdered boy warns him of a dangerous, newly-freed entity, and suddenly he has to talk to Mother again to save the day.
In a battle for his very soul, will he be able to endure – or simply fade away?
Dragon Award nominee Daniel Humphreys’ urban fantasy debut brings all the best elements of Supernatural and the Dresden Files, written with his typical engaging style and evocative prose. Avid fans of the genre will be satisfied with the sarcasm, quips, and pop culture jokes found in Fade. Not to mention the spells, action and family drama.
2017 DRAGON AWARD FINALIST - BEST APOCALYPTIC NOVEL
"This might be one of the best zombie books I've read."
"You WILL NOT be disappointed!"
"(A) refreshing new twist to the traditional zombie apocalypse tale."
"World War Z meets Rot and Ruin."
From the back cover:
Eight years after Z-Day, the surviving remnants of mankind face the unknown. The fences and walls kept the ravenous undead at bay until they wasted away. A once overwhelming foe has turned feeble and weak, and a world gone wild seems ripe for reclamation.
The scars of the long war run deep. And hope is a dangerous thing when the real enemy might just be the survivors themselves.
Paxton got the crap kicked out of him foiling his mother’s plans.
Even that isn’t enough to keep him in one place. Mother is still on the loose after all, and there’s no telling what that evil witch is up to. With his new partner (don’t call her a sidekick!) Cassie, Paxton heads to Arizona to help an old police friend with a supernatural murder problem.
But Mother isn’t content to lay low now that she’s out of jail. She’s got a brand new coven, and she wants her grimoire back. Now. Nothing will stop her from getting her spellbook back, not even her son. Or the ancient stirring in its sleep in the Valley of the Sun.
Paxton’s faced witches, ghosts, and shadow demons, but can he handle an ancient god? With the lives of two young boys hanging in the balance, he can’t back down.
Daniel Humphreys continues the Paxton Locke series out in the desert, taking all the magic, intrigue and adventure from Book One and turning it up to eleven. Readers will love the return of old characters, and love the new additions as Paxton continues his supernatural road trip.

But there are still unanswered questions from the attack against Division M, and whispers of a wizard at work. Paxton and his team head to England to investigate, but immediately meet up with resistance and mercenaries for hire out for blood.
Soon Paxton and his team realize ancient wizard Aleister Knight is gathering items for an insane, destructive ritual deeply tied into the history of England. He plans to bring England to all its formal glory, and the only way to stop him is to descend into the bowels of his island fortress.
Pax must stop the ritual, even if his angelic observer is whispering in his ear for him to turn back. To let it happen will be catastrophic, and Pax can’t stand aside for it. He can never stand aside and let evil happen.
Will Paxton and Division M defeat Aleister Knight? And how high of a price will Pax pay to do it?

The thrilling conclusion to the acclaimed Z-Day trilogy!
"We stand on the brink, ready to reclaim this continent. Our fight today is not for resources or supplies. We’re coming home."
The future is now. Equipped with a mix of primitive and bleeding-edge technologies, the US military is bringing everything we have left to bear against the zombie horde. The evolution of the infected into vicious alpha predators has made old tactics dangerous and obsolete.
It's time to break out the big guns.
Meanwhile, Miles Matthews leads a small team on a last-ditch mission deep into infected territory. Miles and his team will be on their own, surrounded, and outnumbered. Succeed, and they end the alphas' reign of terror. Fail, and they join the horde.
Will this be our last stand, or the final victory in a decade-long nightmare?
WIN BIG OR DIE
The survivors built a community and called it Hope. After eight years, they allowed themselves to think that the zombie scourge was ending; the hordes fading away in the face of time.

The prospect of renewed war against a different type of enemy will require sterner stuff and serious firepower.
Now, they must go far beyond the overgrown wastes they call the wild in a desperate attempt to recover vital military equipment that will determine whether the future of mankind is one for the living - or for the dead.
